Dec 21st…Winter Solstice
This is the shortest day of the year. I happen to feel it is the coolest day to be born on. The short, dark solstice here but it’s bright and long at the other side of the earth where it’s summer. I wasn’t even blogging this time last year. I’ve come a long way Baby! It’s a perfect birthday day here in L.A. Cloudy… A wanna-stay-inside-by-the-fire kinda day. Vanessa and my grandkids are on their way over. Troy will come in a little while. It feels good to have them all here. Lulu and Nathalie arrive Wednesday.
Last night was closing night for “Baby, It’s You” at the Pasadena Playhouse. What a wonderful theatre that is!!! The play will reopen at some point this winter in some new out-of-town theatre. Here are some pictures I took of the closing party last night.

David Codikow invited us to dinner. Robbie Robertson and Al Pacino hadn’t seen each other in a long time and so this was a special event to be at. One of the things they share, besides talent, is working with Martin Scorsese. Robbie has done music on many of Martin’s movies and, of course, Al has been in a number of his films. I have seen Al many times over the years but never have seen him so happy.
Another special part of the dinner for me was seeing Diane Warren again. I first met her at the unveiling of Whitney Houston’s new album which Diane wrote a song for. Diane is perhaps one of the most successful song writers in the business. Richard produced her song, “Rhythm of the Night,” with her many moons ago.

Don't know the name of the man on the far left, but the raven haired beauty is Karen, next to our host, David Codikow. Standing is Andrea Neuman and then far right his wife, Khadija
Not in the photos because she left early is PR maven and true original, Kelly Cutrone. Kelly has also been a poet and musician and I have heard her songs many times cause Richard helped her out early on and has included her stuff in some of his compilations. (He does his compilations to suit different moods and settings. His Santa Fe comp is my favorite) I gave my mug shot clutch to Diane Warren and Kelly flipped for it and said she wanted to promote it…which would be great for my Non-Profit.
P.S. The mug shot swag make good Xmas gifts—just a thought and you’d be doing good!!
See you next time.
I would have sent this sooner but had no internet access….so, better late than never. Bridget and Danny give an annual Christmas party each one with a theme. This year was Cuba and there was a fantastic full Cuban band. Many people wore costumes. We did a minimal job on costumes but had fun anyway. Vanessa and my grandchildren just got in from Atlanta in time for the party and to see their cousin Oliver.
