FIFTH DAY

Jan 08.11

We had a short but productive day rehearsing today. David Binder, who produced the show in New York, stopped by for awhile en route to Australia.

But today, my heart and mind is full of the horriffic news of the shooting in Arizona of Rep Gabrielle Giffords and others by, I am sure, right wing fanatics who have been repeatedly harassing and threatening Giffords, egged on by Sarah Palin and Glen Beck and Tea Party members.

We must stop this madness, this violent rhetoric which media exploits!!

Out of curiosity, in your rush to condemn anyone and everyone on the right (despite the fact that Loughner was said to be “quite liberal” and had no ties to anyone on the right) how do you justify condemning the anger the right has at Obama’s failed policies, high un-employment, and high deficit spending (more than anyone has ever spent) while saying nothing about your presidents own words:
Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

How do you justify condemning Palin for her “crosshairs” map while saying nothing about the democrats Target map that they put out in 2004? Because all I see in your writings is hypocrisy.

  • "At age 50, I broke all the career rules and left acting for 15 years. Ten of those years I was married to Ted Turner and after that I spent 5 years writing my memoirs and traveling the world on behalf of women and girls. Needless to say, returning to my profession late in life has been an interesting, exciting and unusual experience! "Monster-in-Law" was my first film after this hiatus and was one of my most fun professional experiences after "9 to 5"! During my 15 year absence, I gained confidence and, as a result, I feel that my acting is better, more nuanced and relaxed than ever."
