Another comment on Cat Ballou, after watching a DVD version (I saw the original in a cinema in the mid ’60s while in my late teens): A superb, great, classic, different western, combining humor, rough tough stuff, scary moments, music (Nat King Cole & Stubby Kaye, live), colorful scenery (Wyoming), academy award winning acting, and good ending. Cat (Catherine) Ballou is played by gorgeous, young lass (in her 20s) Jane Fonda, while Lee Marvin plays both the good guy (the drunk, Kid Shelleen) & the bad guy (Tim Strawn)(brothers). In one scene, drunken Kid Shelleen is leaning against a wooden building wall while sitting on his beautiful white horse which also seems a little drunk & leaning too with legs crossed. The filming & acting are outstanding, though the audio on the DVD seems a little low (maybe my hearing or TV).
Yours Truly,
Brian V.
