Dear Jane, I became your big fan in Brazil just 2 days ago, watching “Jane Fonda in Five Acts”. Every word you said related to your relationship as a daughter of your father and mother and your efforts to transform your own experience in empathy and feelings of quality of a mother to your son and your daughter impressed me very much. We are capable of learning every day and the benefit for ourselves becomes immediately the true and most important benefit for our children. Sometimes we make an unbelievable effort to try to understand and we forgive our parents for the love we could not feel but we needed so much in our childhood to understand “who we are”. When this “emotional basement of life” is weak our missing, we become easily lost. It becomes our lifetime challenge to replace it, because, what would have been so logical to have, to construct and create our personality was not totally available and had to be given to us by ourselves under much more difficult circumstances as it could have been placed so easily by our parents — in theory. What you were, what you became and what your are is extraordinary — independently of your career as an wonderful actress and activist. YOU as a daughter gave to your father THE OSCAR as a generous GIFT of your LOVE. I am truly impressed and glad knowing you much better in life. You make the world better, and your children too!
