Okay, so let’s start with the superficial: My fingernails are getting so long I can hardly type. But they are acrylic and I can’t cut them. Ideas? I’m growing a beard. I’m caught up on “Better Things” (the […]

    • Hi Jane!
Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for a great first virtual FDF! I’ve been working from home during this pandemic and it was really nice to hear from you and Senator Markey as well as the guys with Greenpeace. While we’re all sitting at home, we should all be utilizing our extra time to contact our representatives. What better time than now? Great to hear Senator Markey’s comments and I’m happy he was able to join us during this chaotic time. He is absolutely right—if enough people take the time to contact their reps, it is absolutely going to make a difference.

Thanks again for all you are doing. I will continue to do all I can while I’m stuck here at home.

      xx Robin

PS: Just ran into the same issue with my nails. Ended up having to soak them in acetone nail polish remover and they came off pretty easily. Another option is to soak a cotton ball in the nail polish remover and wrap it with a piece of foil around each nail. Never thought I’d have to do it myself, but glad it worked!

    • Jane, I think you should watch Carol (2015) again, it never fails to make me feel secure and happy. Have you seen it before? If yes: did you like it? If no: now you’ve got the time to watch it!

Hope you have a great week!

      Greetings from Germany 🙂

    • Hi, Jane! Can’t wait for the new season of Grace and Frankie. But at the same time, I really can because I don’t want it to be over, you know? What’s it like knowing that one of these days you’re going to have to say goodbye to Grace Hanson for good? Because I am certainly not prepared!

    • Jane!
Thank you for the laughs as well as the serious stuff! We all need to still keep a good sense of humor during this crisis!
      See you tomorrow!!

PS- you can cut your nails down with nail clippers and then file the rough edges!

    • Thank you, Jane. It is going to take a lot to get out of this health and financial nightmare. I will pass this along to our legislatures for the future stimulus measures that will need to be taken. I pray that we get through this pandemic and become a kinder, more compassionate world. Please stay safe and healthy.

    • Hi Jane,

What a joy to be able to put Fire Drill Fridays on my calendar during this crisis. I’ve been working my way through Naomi Klein’s books and I can’t stop thinking about her analysis of the 2008 bank bailout—how that was a critical (missed) opportunity to demand more of corporations in exchange for help. I didn’t expect to suddenly be living through another similar moment so soon, but I’ll do everything I can to help.

I couldn’t have less faith in the current administration, but it’s comforting to see some politicians—like Ed Markey—doing the right thing (and speaking in coherent sentences, no less). Ohio’s governor has made many missteps in the past, but seems to be handling this crisis correctly, thankfully. Sometimes people can surprise you for the better.

I may be biased, but Cuomo’s daily briefings have been must-see TV for me—I recommend tuning in and pretending he’s our president, if just for an hour every day.

For what it’s worth, “I’m growing a beard” made me laugh out loud—not a small victory on day 19 of quarantine here in my tiny NYC apartment, so thank you. Keep the updates coming, they help much more than you may realize!

      xoxo

    • Thanks

    • Hi Jane,
When discussing Covid-19 and or the climate crisis what do you believe has been the best and most effective approach to engage and really convince someone that this is a VERY serious situation?
I’m currently in Tennessee and not enough people are heeding the warnings from the CDC!
Just as sad and infuriating- there’s not much of a movement, that I’ve seen, here for climate! My apartment building doesn’t even offer recycling options which is wild to me! Where I grew up recycling was pretty mandatory by our city!

Thanks again! VERY much enjoyed the online Fire Drill Friday 🔥✊🏻✌🏻

Also: 100% acetone will take the acrylic off 💕

      • Wow, Alyssa, I;m so sorry and aghast that people there aren’t taking it –COVIUD-19 and the climate crisis–seriously. I will wager it’s because they only watch FOX News. I guess I would say to a friend or relative who feels that way, “If you knew that getting the real facts, not from politicians but from doctors, nurses, experts, would save your life and/or the life of your family, wouldn’t you want to know what they’re saying?” and then I would try to get them to watch MSNBC or CNN or some other news outlet that is doing real reporting. Or, if you watch, tape it and show it to them…things you feel are really convincing. Tell them that doctors and nurses are dying because they don’t have protective gear. Hospitals are running out of beds and ventilators. This is happening right now.Rachel Maddow is good.

        • Thanks for the response. All my friends/family are pretty woke and just as outraged about all of this, thankfully. It’s the people I don’t know, the people I saw outside walking in groups from my window, or on Social media! Perhaps a lack of common sense? A lack of care? Maybe even a “fuck it” attitude? I’ll never understand. But how does one coax those people into reality?

I still feels there’s hope. God I hope there is.
          Xx

          • Some of them actually believe Covis-19 is a Democrat plot to destroy Trump. That’s what I heard Rev Jerry Falwell say yesterday when reopening his college.

            • I hope we can come back from this stronger than ever. I’ve never wished to be back in my home state more than now. Gov. Andy Beshear Has united the entire state of Kentucky ( from what I’ve heard ).

Stay safe, Jane. Thanks for hearing all of us out and helping ! Look forward to Friday!

    • Jane,

Thank you for your tireless work to empower people – I greatly admire all that you do. Many of us are furloughed or face financial and health related issues- you show great strength in this uncertain time. Thank you.

    • Hi! I´m Ana, I’m 19 and I’m from Portugal. I’m on my 2nd year of pharmaceutical sciences, so I take this Covid-19 pandemic really serious and I salute you for taking a stand to help soften down this pandemic!

I’m quarantined for almost a month now (I’ve been in prophylactic isolation for 2 weeks since a girl from my class contracted the virus, but, thank God, it was nothing) and during this time I’ve been catching up on movies and documentaries.
Among all those movies I saw “the book club” and I found you so empowering and fierce that I wanted to know a little more about you. And so I did. I started to watch your movies and your interviews and I immediately realized you were not just another pretty face! I saw your documentary and let me say, I was so amazed! Your journey, your strength, your way to look at life, the way you’re committed to the truth and the planet, how you keep going and pushing and never settle.

In one of those interviews I learnt about this website, and here I am! I am so glad that someone is fighting and I definitely want to help, just not sure how yet, given my location, age…(?)

I’m so glad I “discovered” you! I relate to you in so many ways and feel like I can learn so much from your experience! You certainly did inspire and empower me! I admire and respect you so much, definitely a woman I look up to! I truly hope that I get to meet you some day and thank you with a big hug!

      All the best wishes,

      Ana <3

PS: I might have been working out with you for the last 2 weeks and may or may not (definetly am) be sore out of my life ahah, but I feel so good afterwards! Also: Grace and Frankie? YESSSS

      • Welcome to my online community, Ana. Glad to hear from you. I do my own writing and answering so this is me, not someone else. What I don;t know how to do it actually post my blog/facebook, etc. I write and someone else posts. I did a post for Tik Toc yesterday. I love Portugal. xx

    • Sorry I’m commenting a lot! But Jane & Heather:

I just got word that at least 5 well know bars in downtown Nashville are still bringing in bands as large as 6+ members for tips!!! Just to stream live!!! This is wild! I wonder if the governor or mayors are even doing anything at this point!!!

    • I agree! Good to know there are other like minded people out there! It’s very concerning that just yesterday I went outside to roller skate by myself and a lady with her small child started to come up to me to talk! ( I never booked it so fast in my life ). Ugh!!!!

    • I think it’s great that you do that! Definitely going to check it out!
I love it too ahah, It’s a small country but it´s so beautiful and friendly (and we do have the best food), hope you pay us a visit sometime! 😘

    • Hi Jane. Thank you for your words of wisdom and bringing perspective to this all! And also to Vanessa for her words. As serious as the climate crisis and covid 19 are, I’m glad you and your neighbors were able to enjoy your quarantinis!! Thanks for the smile, it was needed for sure! Stay safe & keep the blogs coming!❤️

    • Jane,

I wanted to say that’s the sweetest thing, the ‘social distance party’ with your neighbours. I love to hear the safe ways people are ‘coming together’ during this crisis.

I’ve had to say “goodbye” to my family and friends during this time, but it’s forced us to find new ways to communicate; my grandmother, who is the same age as you, just learnt how to facetime, now she won’t stop calling, it took a pandemic for her to use technology!

If you have the time, I would love to see you blog more regularly, like you used to. I really look forward to your next post. I don’t know if you’re aware but if you do Instagram Live, a feature you may be familiar with from Fire Drill Fridays, your followers can ask questions below and you can do a Q&A. It also encourages people to stay home and watch.

      Much love,

      Kate

P.S. Thank you for reply to my previous comment, I can’t express how much it meant.

    • Hi Jane, glad to hear you are doing well! I live in Ohio and have been working from home. I feel very fortunate that my employer allows this and that I’m still able to take home a paycheck during this very uncertain time for many. I will be calling my senators today to urge them to use the bailout to help working Americans rather than big corporations and CEOs. In Ohio, the stay-at-home order that was put into place is already affecting workers drastically. Many have already been laid off or furloughed without a paycheck. If this continues for several months, we are going to reach a new crisis of people being unable to make rent or mortgage payments. Nationwide, people are doing work that has been deemed essential and are being forced to work in very small spaces, definitely not abiding by the 6 feet apart rule. My father is included in this group. It worries me that he is still being forced to do this. These people are being taken advantage of and it’s completely unacceptable that their health is being put at risk (and—the health of their families) just so businesses can continue to rake in the money. Corporate greed continues to be a threat to the public health of all Americans and we can’t let that continue. Trump has shown even more so that he is incapable of leading us through a crisis, so I hope that this will remain in the minds of all Americans when choosing who to vote for in November. I am really making an effort to remain hopeful that this will all end soon. I really appreciate that you are continuing your work with FDF from home. I just watched the most recent teach-in that you posted and am looking forward to what else is coming. Since this crisis has begun, I have been unable to go out and work with other climate activists in my local chapter of Sunrise. I just heard that we have some alternative plans for Earth Day which makes me excited. If we can’t get out on the streets, we’re going to utilize the internet and make it all digital. I think it’s going to turn out great!
Happy to hear from you, Jane, and thank you for all you’re doing. I have enjoyed reading these recent blog posts. Stay safe out there! xo Robin

    • Hi, Jane. Hope you are well. Besides the meeting at the fountain and your activism, how are you keeping yourself occupied? because we all know you like to keep busy, lol. Maybe I could steal some ideas from you because ever since my university closed, my days have been filled with a whole lot of nothing!

      • Aa-isha, I am finishing my book about Fire Drill Fridays, “What Can I Do? My Path From Climate Despair to Action.” It’s coming out in August. I love this book!!! So that takes time. I walk my dog. I workout and I read. I also do Zoom meetings about the bailout Trump’s trying o pass that’s a travesty. Busy. lol

        • That’s so great to hear! I’m really excited for the new book. I actually ordered your biography (after reading the eBook version) and I was scheduled to pick it up tomorrow. However, i’m not sure if that will be possible now because it was just announced that our country is going into lockdown. Pretty scary stuff! But I take comfort in knowing that you’re out there fighting the good fight and taking down the pretty scary stuff that is currently occupying the White House.

          All my love.

    • Thought this Henry Beston (Naturalist) quote might be loved by all.
“We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals. Remote from universal nature and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge and sees thereby a feather magnified and the whole image in distortion. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate for having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein do we err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings: they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.”

    • Hi Jane,
I hope you are keeping busy during this time.
I am really excited because I just got my absentee ballot info!
we vote April 7th in Wisconsin. its the first time I am voting without
my parents republican influence.I am voting for a climate change president.I am really excited because I finally feel like it’s my choice. You have been such a big influence in my life since you started firedrill Fridays!! thank you. I also preordered your book. I cant wait to read it!
      stacey

      • Go Stacey!!!

        • Jane,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me. It meant the world! And also for the encouragement! I can’t wait to read your next blog! Also I can’t wait for this Friday! I already registered.

    • Hi Jane,

We’re all struggling to adapt to this ever-changing world, but know that it’s been immensely helpful to have you provide rational, forward-thinking guidance—keep it coming whenever/however you can!

My heart aches for the world—here in New York the streets are deserted, beloved small businesses are shuttered, and the mood of uncertainty is overwhelming at times. But there are always bright spots even in the darkest times (beautiful blooms, helpful neighbors, etc.), and I’m trying to focus on (and add to) the good.

Before I shifted to writing/editing full time, I was a graphic designer; I went a bit rogue and made a Fire Drill Friday graphic (inspired by your actual hand/peace sign). I was humbled to see it reposted on both the FDF and your own personal Instagram accounts—a VERY minor thing, I know, compared to current issues, but I want to say thank you!

I’m always willing to help spread the FDF message in whatever way I can—this crisis may have derailed my cross-country road trip plans but it hasn’t dimmed my passion. If anything, I’m more motivated than ever, view this unexpected “downtime” as a gift, and, as you say, vow to remain productive.

Stay safe (and know I’m raising a quarantini in solidarity from the East Coast)!

      xoxo
      Alexandra

    • Hello Jane,

I have loved seeing all of your social media posts and blogs during these past few weeks. I’ve been doing your workouts for several months now, and they have been especially helpful during this period of social distancing. What kinds of workouts have you been doing lately, and what else have you been doing to stay positive and motivated?

      -Chelsey

      • Chelsey, there’s too much to do not to stay positive. The Democrats did a great job putting far more money for workers, health care, nurses, small businesses etc into the first bailout bill. Made sure Trump couldn’t use the funds to bail out his hotels.I think our calls for people to call their senators was very helpful. The elected officials (Democrats) worked hard. They’re still working and Still a lot to do with bailout bills still to come. Have to prevent a corporate bailout, CEO raises, stock buy backs, etc and make sure that vast amount of money is largely put to proper use…helping average people and businesses that are most hurt.

I also work out every day…very slowly, carefully. x

    • Hello Ms Fonda,
Despite how sad these days are about the pandemic, I´m so glad I can able to write to you. I´m Natalia, from Argentina (Sorry if I write badly in English). I write to you because I want to say THANK YOU, because you have improved my whole life. In a lot of ways.
As a school teacher myself, I use the articles in your blog about the CLIMATE CRISIS, (especially the section about teachings) to teach my students about the severity of the environmental crisis, the importance of taking care about the environment and the daily actions they can do in order to take care of our planet… and, as you say, to make the connection between the serious health crisis and the climate crisis.
I really admire you since 80´s, when I was a child and I heard about you and the workout videos. But since 2015, when I began to watch GRACE and FRANKIE, (The best series I´ve ever seen, -I saw the six seasons many, many times), I could know more and more about you… I began to read and watch videos and interviews online about your job as an actress, and about your politic activism, and your commitment to the environment and the list goes on…
I read your book PRIME TIME, (and I lost fear to getting older), actually I´m reading MY LIFE SO FAR, and I got WOMEN COMING ON AGE and your book of RECIPES FOR A HEALTHY LIVING. I recently bought online a lot of your films too, and I saw many of them, and Jane Fonda in five acts too…I´m so grateful to have been able to buy and watch them…
Even though I know you´re always very busy, I wish you would write me back, but if you can´t, I´ll understand you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for SHARING us your knowledge and your work and life experiences, which teach and enrich us so much!!!
      XX, Natalia.

    • Hi Jane!
Very much looking forward to tomorrow Fire Drill Friday which I will be attending with my 18 year old niece who is now home from college. She’s excited to embark on activism and together we have watched your teach-ins and have bonded over this scary time in our lives. We first discovered you as an actress and have bonded over your many wonderful films and Grace & Frankie (please tell Lily we all love her and hope to see/hear from her soon!) and now we are bonding over the climate crisis and what we can do together to make changes and have our voices heard. So thank you for being a strong activist and putting yourself out there. We admire you on so many levels and applaud your continuous efforts for our future!
      -Kara

    • Smart, practical, grounded & fair points, all.
You must have a lot of patience, more than I, to take the time to spell out what should be self-evident to anyone with empathy and common sense. That’s what demoralises me, that these things have to be spelled out, implored, beseeched, against powerful forces that often don’t even deign to respond. And to think you’ve been on this trail since the Sixties amazes me. I know compliments don’t get the job done, but still, you’re quite a job of work. Your inner resources must be plugged into Monument Valley or something – – your Dad’s old stomping ground.

    • Hi, Jane!
I’m so glad that you’re safe and sound and that you continue to work on your new book.
In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been listening to different perspectives of specialists in microbiology and I’m a somehow skeptical about the real reason behind this entire nightmare called covid19. In Romania where I live, we already have the army on the street to keep the people inside.I feel that it’s more than it seems at first side and it’s related to the global economy, and MONEY, of course. I know that you’re not an expert in this particular area, but how do you feel about all this?
      sending love,
      Nicole

      • The virus is all too real. All the global pandemics of the last many decades came from human contacts with animals and insects that we aren’t used to being in contact with. AIDS, SARS, MERS, Ebola and now Covid-19. Climate change is behind it: melting Arctic ice sheet releasing millennia-old pathogens, deforestation, urbanization, warmer, shorter winters and earlier springs…All that is real and these pandemics will keep coming and perhaps get worse. But then you have right wing radical governments in growing numbers of countries (U.S., Brazil, Hungary, Russia, Australia, etc), taking advantage of these global crisis to cripple institutions that address public needs: environmental regulations, welfare, healthcare, public schools, privacy laws, etc. We must fight against this. Read “Democracy in Chains,” by Nancy MacLean. xx

        • Thanks, Jane, for sharing your opinion about it.
I’m really aware that climate change is like a Pandora’s box that we humans opened it a longtime ago because we’ve thought we deserve everything no matter the price. And now we’re paying a high price: our own potential extinction.
And you’re right that many institutions that address public needs are affected. I’m really emotional and deeply touched by the elders’ situation, because at least in my country they are treated like they have no rights as humans beings anymore.
I will look for the book you’ve recommended to me,
          be safe,
          xxx

    • Hi Jane

I hope you are well. what a pity that you no longer have Obama in the presidency !
I see that you too are horrible in the USA
in France the pandemic is regressing a little ! It’s very difficult
I read that Elton John is also of great financial help with $ 1 million to help and protect the most vulnerable. He is a very good person
      and very generous.
I also saw a video which I think may interest you too.
I show you the link, I hope you can see it.

Take good care of yourself. xxx

    • Dear Jane, stay safe. I fear we will lose many talented people during this terrible time. We are doing ok in Australia and especially Western Australia as we have locked down our state and regions within our state. Most of our infections have come from cruise ships and overseas travellers. Praying of everyone. X

    • Hi Jane! Thanks for sharing this excerpt! Already preordered my copy of your book and am really looking forward to reading it. I am always looking for ways to continue my own climate activism and I can’t wait to hear more about your experiences. Since we are all currently stuck at home and unable to get out on the streets for climate strikes, tips like the ones you provided are super appreciated! Have you considered a virtual Fire Drill Friday? We have held several Sunrise conference calls over the Zoom app recently and I was really happy with how we were all able to discuss ideas together. There is a video or phone option to join the meeting as well as a chat room. We also were able to break into small groups to bounce ideas off one another. Really cool!

So sorry to hear the KSU event was canceled but still looking forward to hearing your speech. l hope to see you at a Fire Drill Friday event in the future! I really think we can make this a nationwide movement. ❤️

      • You make me so proud of you, you’re an important voice in the world and you’re using it to help everyone. Because of you lots of people are starting to change their daily habits to get a better world. Thank you for everything and I’m so glad you’ve posted this on my bday week! Big kisses from Brazil! ❤️

    • Thank You, Jane! For your wisdom on such important topics in our world. You have opened my eyes to the many issues our world is facing. I am 37 years old and have been “woken” by you in many areas of my life. I have read My Life So Far and it has changed my life! I am happy to be able to see the world the way it is, see myself the way I should be and realizing it is never too late to start over! I have shared your wisdom and views with my 18 year old niece and she has a fire lit under her for the many causes she believes in and is trying her best to help educate her fellow college friends about our climate amongst other things.
So again, THANK YOU for this amazing new start to our lives and we are proud to stand with you and everyone else to help bring the change this world needs for the future!
      xo Kara

    • Hi Jane!

We really appreciate the update about KSU. We’re sad to miss you obviously (and if you ever do make it to Ohio you HAVE to try a Swenson’s cheeseburger) but of course we understand there are more pressing issues at stake. I’m remaining hopeful that this crisis will move the country in the right direction eventually but in the meantime your words of wisdom and perspective—however they’re delivered—help tremendously.

Trying to use this unexpected down time wisely and changing my bank has been on my to-do list since the D.C. Fire Drill Fridays; this post is all the inspiration I needed. I’ll be sure to share with the many wonderful women I’ve remained in contact with since meeting at FDF.

You may not be able to see us cheering or chanting from the front lines right now, but know that we’re listening, organizing, and are ready to adapt as necessary.

      xoxo
      Alexandra

      • Alexandra, We are discussing ways to continue Fire Drill Fridays virally. I think it will be exciting. Stay tuned. Are you signed up by texting JANE to 877-877?

        • Yes! I’ve texted and signed up through the FDF website. Will be tuning in and sharing the message however I can. Thanks for keeping us updated and motivated. Stay safe and sane!

          xoxo

    • I read it, Kate. What I said in 2014 still stands: wait till there’s love. xxoo

    • Being stuck at home really makes one realize how short our attention spans can be. I’ve cleaned my apartment until there was nothing I could think of next. However, in times like these I’ve found solace in the little thing. Like helping out neighbors by giving bags of cat foot, or running to the grocery for an elder downstairs because I’m young and SHOULD. All of this bad somehow made me wake up. But then I also realized that if the government can be so front line about the corona virus … why not climate change? That’s infuriating! The world needs a billion more of you, Jane!

      Hope you’re doing well!

      -Alyssa

      • Exactly, Alyssa. This is a teachable moment about how much money the government can come up with when they have to and how ill prepared we are for the climate crisis. xx

    • It’s okay. I finally found your reply. Thanks, Jane. I will cherish your words.

    • Hi Jane!

I hope one day we will be able to have Fire Drill Friday’s on a global basis! Germany would benefit greatly from that!

I love you and what you stand fror deeply,

      Lea!

    • Yep. We must try to be civil with each other. We are IN THIS TOGETHER. Have each other’s backs.

    • Hi Jane!

Thank you so much for your continued clarity, compassion, and perspective. I’m also cautiously optimistic this pandemic will signal a tipping point—not just in the public’s awareness of glaring systemic inequalities, but in our collective motivation to actually DO something meaningful to balance the scales.

The mood where I live in Harlem is decidedly resilient, proving that our best bet for a more humane and dignified future lies not with our current house of cards (built by, and for, white men) but within indigenous, immigrant, and minority communities.

I know from personal experience that the decision to transform ourselves and the world around us can happen in an instant—maybe this will finally be that moment for a great number of people. I’m hopeful that while progress is often slow and painful, it’s still progress.

I can’t wait to read your new book—to say that your words and actions have been an inspiration to me is an understatement. Those D.C. Fire Drill Fridays brought me new friends, new ideas, new passions, and most importantly, a new perspective on the world and my place in it. Hopefully the book will also help ease the profound sense of withdrawal that I—and many others—felt the moment the D.C. actions ended.

Take care of yourself, we’ll see you at KSU, and join you on the front lines wherever and however we can.

      xoxo
      Alexandra

      • Hi dear Alexandra. KSU has cancelled the events but still want my speech virally so I will send my speech and we’ll see how they disemminate it. xx

    • Ahh truth-sayer thank you for your voice, your pen, your modeling, your mind, conviction, and heart. You raise us up, give us hope that we can DO something with this dire warning of truth. You have no idea how very much you have given us all these years. But we know. Barnes & Noble better have lots of these books. D

    • Hi Jane,
This sure is a weird time in the world. Here in Ohio all schools have closed and all state employees have been ordered to world from home. It breaks my heart that without school, many students are left without the meals they depend on. As this all unfolds, it’s more evident than ever that we need a President who will provide support to Americans with paid time off, and support a Medicare for all plan so that people don’t have to worry about what might happen if they fall ill and are unable to see a doctor. My brother is overseas in Taiwan working as an English teacher (thankfully he is safe) and I am amazed by their preparedness during this outbreak, compared to the US. Instead of mass chaos, they have taken control of the situation and managed to keep the virus at bay with only 50 cases in the country of 24 million residents. The universal healthcare plan has definitely been a huge factor!

A big impact for me as a member of Sunrise Movement is that our upcoming Earth Day actions and strike have been canceled and we will now have to resort to digital activism. It is especially disheartening that this is all happening a time when our upcoming election is dire. Youth voter turnout is so incredibly important right now, and with so many students being displaced from their college dorms around the country and primary elections being postponed, it’s inevitable that voter turnout will be lower. I was lucky to be able to utilize the early voting option. It is my hope that this outbreak puts everything into perspective for all Americans. If the 2016 election had turned out differently, we likely would be more prepared to handle a situation like this.

Your activism with FDF has really inspired me to do more here in Ohio. Would love to get several local climate groups together to start a local chapter of FDF!

See you in May at Kent State. Hoping that this coronavirus will be a thing of the past by then. My friend Alexandra and I are looking forward to your speech! Stay safe out there Jane! ❤️

      • Robin, yes, we must find ways to keep our activism juices flowing. I’m planning on doing more teach-ins here at hone on SKYPE. I need my Fire Drill Fridays fix. Also, i;m writing this FDF book which I really love. See what I wrote to Alexandra re KSU xx

    • Thanks for your activism. I hope you will be paying close attention to the extaordinary powers Trump just granted himself by declaring a national emergency. He can now detain without hearing, use military force on American soil, nationalize the internet etc. I am very wary.

    • Jane, I am heartbroken. It’s just so easy to fall into depression and despair, seeing what’s happening to the world. I’m trying every day to put just one foot into the future until this nightmare is over, planning and preparing future projects, taking some time off the news and social media. Not gonna lie, being alone in a strange country literally locked away from my dearest family and friends is a terribly devastating state of being. But I am hanging in there, like hopefully so many of us. I really admire you for being able to keep going in this situation, when I just feel like curling up in a corner or going to a winter’s sleep…

Stay safe and healthy! Hugs from your loyal Daniel

    • Hi Jane! Thank you for being you <3 You are such a comfort In a world like this both In the small and In the big picture! We will stick together In times like this. In my home country Sweden we get paid when we are home and sick, we get paid when our children are sick and we get paid If we have to go to meetings at our children school. I don't know If you know about our prime minister Olof Palme who was assassinated in 1986. He and the Social Democrats built a democratic and good welfare society here but know we have a upcoming far right rasist parti who Is gaining votes. That hurts my deep In my heart since my grandparents survived Bergen Belsen. I'm a 47 year old mother off three and I wan´t mine and all the children to grow up In a better place so my contribution Is that I am a social health worker In school. Thank you for the Inspiration you give me as a person, mother, human being. I'm a new follower here. Love Helena from Sweden (Also a daughter off suiced, I was 11 my mother was 32)

      • Olaf Palme was someone I admired a lot. I met him several times. Stay strong. xxoo

        • Jane, I wanted to let you know that watching “Grace and Frankie” has centered me through all this. I am a gay 49-year-old musical-theatre conductor/keyboardist who was working on a Georgia stage production of “Singin’ in the Rain” when the world crashed down. I got to see it all happen in real time–I went to the grocery store one day and everything was in place; the next day the toilet paper was half-gone. People were laughing off the warnings but still staying a safe distance away (no more handshakes or hugs). When I left for home (I live in Pennsylvania), I wondered if I would ever see the people and places I was bidding farewell to again. But, as I say, thank heavens for you and Lily and the “Grace and Frankie” team for keeping us all sane. I hope all of you are taking precautions and that we all get through this!

    • Hi Jane,
I just read the messages. Here in France we are also living in an extremely difficult period with coronavirus. we’ve been living in confinement since yesterday noon ! I cross my fingers so that this epidemic quickly recedes.

everything in the world is very anxiety-provoking and difficult to bear. I think it is unfortunately a bad thing for a better world, that mentalities are changing ! That it will lead to awareness for an important change for the planet and for all of us.
I admire your energy in defending all these causes, you are truly extraordinary!… Respect !
especially take care of yourself and your family

      • If we make sure our elected officials don’t allow government hand-outs to corporations that enrich CEOs and shareholders but leave workers out, it will be good. BUt people need to put porssure on their electeds. We could come out of this better off but it won’t happen without public pressure. xx

    • Hello Jane, definitely trying times that we have never seen. Sad for all those who are sick, or who have lost loved ones. Also sorry for business owners who have had to close down and the employees who are out of work because of this virus. Hope T and congress can get something figured out quickly to help all affected. Be safe.
P.S. Not sure if you remember me from 1990 Goodwill Games (driver) Now semi retired and living in Bozeman.

    • You are such an inspiration to me Jane! Thank you for your activism on the critical issue of climate change and the crisis unfolding right in front of us! I’ve learned so much from the Firedrill Fridays!! Thank you Jane!!

    • Hi Jane, i just wanted to give you a quick shoutout and let you know how much i admire you! Grace and Frankie made a serious impact on my life during a really dark time in my life and helped me overcome the obstacles i was then facing. You are amazing and i really want to thank you for making me a happier person! I appreciate it. Much Love ♡♡ Meg

    • Hey, Dear Jane!
As Always I am following your steps from Mexico, getting informed and admiring all the hard work you’re doing.

Meanwhile in Mexico is taking place another kind of protest against our government because of alarming increase of femicides and the indifference of our president. I just wanted to tell you that you have inspired me to be part of it, to fight and raise my voice to make the difference. I am so engaged in this new movement and hopefully, very soon we can have a movement against Climate Change because it’s a cause I really care for.
Thank You, Jane, for being my biggest inspiration.
      I love you so much.
      With Love,
      Pau

    • Go, Jane! We honor you and all the other great women fighting for us on this International Women’s Day!

On another note, it was so nice to see you at the Oscars, delivering us a historic moment so beautifully and with such lovely suspense. Also, many people can learn from you how to make a statement with taste and respect. Bravo!

    • Hi Jane!

I want to thank you again for inspiring me—and so many others—to think about the climate crisis, activism, and our place in the world in a different, transformative way.

I got arrested three times—my first-ever arrest(s)—with Fire Drill Fridays in D.C. and we spoke briefly on Dec 27 and Jan 10. I’m the managing editor of Roadtrippers Magazine and in April, I’m beginning a cross-country road trip in an effort to better understand America with a focus on the climate crisis; since I’m new to activism, I also hope to learn more about movement-building and I am eager to help out wherever I can along the way.

I’m also a Kent State grad and I’ll be in Ohio for your speech during the May 4th commemoration. I know the decision to accept the invitation must not have been easy, but I think you’re the perfect choice—thank you, again, for your continued courage and leadership.

Several of us planning to attend your KSU talk have been inspired directly by you and Fire Drill Fridays—and spurred into action in our communities as a result. I’ve signed up through all of the respective channels to get involved with the expansion of Fire Drill Fridays, but I’m wondering if you have plans to—or advice for anyone who is ready and willing to help—bring Fire Drill Fridays to Ohio?

I will forever hold those D.C. Fire Drill Fridays close to my heart as I try to build on—and channel—the knowledge I gain into future actions as I cross the country. And know that we’ll be cheering you on loudly at KSU!

      xoxo
      Allie

      • Alexandra, I’m so happy you’ve written me! I am bad on names so when I wrote about meeting you in the Fire Drill Friday book that’s coming out in August, I will cite you and your magazine by name. See you at Kent State and let;s pray it isn’t cancelled. This virus is playing havoc with the massive plans the students have made for Earth Day. So much being outlawed and cancelled. But maybe it will expose the Prez for the fraud he is. Go onto the FDF website and click on”Taking Action” to see about starting one in Ohio. Stay strong. xx Jane

    • Hi Jane,
Thank you for all you have been doing in DC and now LA with Fire Drill Fridays. I recently had an experience similar to what you described about feeling a need to get involved. For me, it has been hard to sit by the sidelines and watch this administration strip away environmental protections and regulations and destroy what we have left of this planet. Your Fire Drill Friday teach-ins were extremely eye-opening and ultimately led me to join my local chapter of the Sunrise Movement here in Cleveland. It is really encouraging to see that so many other young people care as much as I do and are willing to take action to make sure future generations have a livable future. I have never before in my life felt such a pull to take action, and I hope more people will join me. I don’t have much of a background as an activist but I have a voice to use and I think that’s all it takes.

My friend Allie and I met because of Fire Drill Fridays. She was arrested with you on several occasions and we connected over Twitter due to our shared interest in climate activism. We are both graduates of Kent State University and are thrilled that you will be coming to KSU to speak for the commemoration of the tragic events of 5/4/70. I’m sure it was not an easy decision because the mention of this era can bring up many different reactions from people, but I am so happy they invited you, and really commend you for saying yes!!

I think you are the perfect choice. Your activism over the years has inspired myself and many, many others to always fight to end injustices in the world. I think it will be a really special evening. While you are in Kent, do you have any plans to meet with local activists? I know my friend and I are both very interested in possibly starting a local chapter of Fire Drill Fridays. I think starting a FDF would be great opportunity for some of our local climate groups to all band together. Thanks again. I am so looking forward to cheering you on at KSU!

      • Hi Robin!

My name is Colleen, I work at Matador Content, a production company in Los Angeles and I’m currently working on a docu-series about iconic leaders who have inspired people to overcome adversity and accomplish amazing things, and one of our episodes will feature Jane Fonda. I’d love to talk to you about what you wrote in this comment. My email is colleen@matadorcontent.com if you’d like to hear more. Thanks!

    • I looked up the stopthemoneypipeline.com as suggested. The closest action on the 23rd or 22nd of April seemed to be in Chico, CA. or Albuquerque. Nothing in Phoenix. I was hoping to find an action already planned for the Chase Tower in Phoenix, but nothing so far. I have no time to start an action by that date as I will be traveling back and forth WA to AZ. So I will just wait until here and connect with the group. I did learn much from the site, like they have flyers, letters and banners which is something I wondered about. Where I am moving has activists who took part in planning the Women’s Day march. I will meet with them and learn more how to get involved. You’ve started me on another path. Dona

    • hey, jane!
a few weeks ago made it a year since i saw you in palm springs. but that’s besides the point, i love following your work with the climate crisis. i preordered your book yesterday, and i am so excited to read it! i have been devouring as many books on climate action as i can and yours definitely has me the MOST excited. i signed up to join the green peace team and i’m ecstatic to start volunteering with them! i’m hoping fire drill fridays come to michigan soon. stay safe with this outbreak of the virus! can’t wait to see you again. xx, sienna

    • jane,

congratulations on the new addition to your family. is this troy’s son? it must be heartbreaking not to see him at such a young age. i can’t believe how much energy you have to write a book in less than three months, absolutely absurd, but i’m amazed. i wish you luck! i will of course be purchasing and look forward to reading, i’ve been keeping track of you, and fire drill fridays, all the way from the uk.

if you pass over some of that energy to this 24-year-old, that’ll be much appreciated!

much love, and happy new year.

      kate

    • Hey Jane!

I wish all the best to you for 2020 and I hope you had a good time!

First of all, I think it’s so beautiful how much you care, I haven’t seen this much enthusiasm in a long time and I hope you not only reach out but something changes in 2020.

Then I have this weird question: do you have advice for self work in 2020? It would mean the world to a lot of people if you maybe did a blog post on this, I think.

And last, but not least: I look so much forward to grace and Frankie and am so so so excited after last year’s cliff hanger!
Let’s see what this year brings.

A wonderful 2020 to you and thank you sm for doing this for our earth!

      • Hi Jane!
You have always been a big part of my life. I’ve been asked countless times if I were related to you sometimes the answer is no but sometimes I just play the part and say yes! My license plate was J.Fonda (not intentionally) and people would say “Look honey Jane Fonda” and I’d come back with “ya like Jane Fonda would be driving a Honda.” I live in DC and was hoping to get to meet you while you were here but didn’t know how to go about it… My life has been quite difficult these past 2 years for me and my husband are homeless with our beautiful Puggle princess forced to live out of that very same Honda. Now without the vanity tag though. We are struggling to keep afloat and the help that DC provides the homeless is mainly geared towards family with children, understandably so. If you could please help us through this rough patch me and my husband vow to dedicate our free time to fight climate change with our heart and soul like you and Greta! Please I fear what is ahead for me and my fantastic husband. I don’t want to lose him or the life we were just starting to build together before we found ourselves living on the streets of our capital… I hope you see this…
        <3

    • Jane, I wish you a happy new year and only the best for 2020🍀 Above all health, love and happiness😊 Greetings Barbara

    • Happy New year Jane and thank you for al your good work what is soo needed. I will read your book when it’s coming out, can’t wait. In the meantime stay healthy and I hope that you later in January will hold your grandson and Tulea again. I follow you every Thursday and Friday for Fire Drill Friday from the Netherlands. Love you 😘

    • I’m glad to hear your writing’s on fire. I’m hoping when the Fire Drill book is done that you will carry right on through another memoir (maybe one trading chapters between films made in a particular decade and parallel political activities for the same period in the next chapter). You know, serve and volley.

      • Happy New Year ❤️❤️❤️

I would love to send you letter where could I send it to?

Well wishes and all the best 😘😘

        Love Kiara

    • Hi, dear Jane! VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Your energy and determination are incalculable. I follow your steps from Uruguay and there are times that I end up laughing because I’m sure you’re going to be “immortal.” (If death looks for you, YOU WILL NOT FIND IT !!!) 😏😅😅😅 I don’t know if you imagine the admiration you provoke in the “poor mortals” who suffer from osteoarthritis !!! Hahaha
I would love to read your book … as long as they publish it in Spanish too … and if not … I will read it in English and thus continue to learn your language and reaffirm concepts about climate change.
I follow you on Fire Drill on Thursdays and Fridays and I look forward to “the reunion with my two old friends, Grace and Frankie” !!!! 😍 😍 I adore them!!! I adore you. You are my inspiration to do things that I had in the memory drawer … for example, write. Although, sometimes I give up but then restart. It’s like “Frankie’s diary”, hahaha, it’s not in the air or in front of the cell phone but things that are very felt and true come out.
I am glad to know that you join Túlea and a new grandson. ENJOY THEM, because if what you do in activism is important, imagine that having them in your arms is even more important because you will renew your energy to continue fighting for a healthier and better world for them! Form your army !!! From my place, in my country, I will look for ways to continue fighting for what I always preached as a teacher: a better world!
I send you a warm and tight hug (God knows how I want to give it to you in person!)
      I love you so much.
      Graciela 😍
(here they tell me Grace a thousand years ago! 😏😅😅)
      😍♥ ️😍♥ ️🇺🇾

    • Dear Jane,

I don’t know how you do it, I am always aware about things you’re doing and you never cease to amaze me. You must hear this a lot, but from the bottom of my heart I need to tell you that you are my biggest inspiration next to my mother, you are unstoppable, brave and going after your ideals. Keep going with the amazing job, we are learning a lot from you and I am willing to spread this information to my students in Mexico. We need to know, to be informed and aware of reality and do something about it to save our home.
Congratulations on the new addition in your family.
      Happy New Year, Jane!!
I wish you all the best because good is all that you deserve,
      I love you.

      Paulina

    • Jane,
Happy new year! Congratulations on your new grandson! Also I can’t wait to read your new book about fire drill Friday’s. I am learning soo much on the Thursday teach-ins. Can’t wait for the new season of Grace and Frankie.
      Stacey❤️

    • Dear Jane,
You are one of those rare examples of what an iron will can do!!!
In the latest years, you’ve become one of my favorite women on Earth! And this fact helps me to keep on working to become a better version of myself.
When I’m hearing persons around me complaining about being already too old at 60s to still do something, I instantly reply to them: “And when you’ll be 82 as Jane Fonda how will you think then?” And my question is blocking for a moment their cognitive scenario.
GO, JANE! Don’t stop! After all, LIFE is about “moving”!
      Be blessed! Love you!
      <3 <3 <3

    • Happy New Year, Jane! I’m so thrilled that you’re working on a book about Fire Drill Fridays! I’ve learned so much over the past several months about climate change, and your weekly teach-ins have been so helpful! One of my goals for 2020 is to get more involved locally with the Sunrise Movement and several other organizations. I’m so glad to read that Greenpeace will be continuing the Fire Drill Friday movement. Thank you for all of your hard work! It has made such a difference!

Congratulations on your new grandson! I hope 2020 brings you great happiness and joy!

      Robin

    • Jane, I hope you had a good start to the new year and I wish you all the best. Arrive back home safely in LA. The countdown is on …. I’m so excited about the 6th season of Grace and Frankie and can’t wait !! I hope season 6 has several episodes. I hope that Grace and Frankie don’t get lost by marrying Nick. You and Lily, indescribable … Simply adorable and great! I look forward to it! All the best for you! Barbara xxx

    • Dearest Jane,

I wish you the best for this upcoming year. Words cannot express how much we appreciate you putting yourself out there still and using your influence and celebrity to bring about change. You could just literally rest on your laurels – but it’s also a great nudge for us to get up from our couch. The horrifying events of these last weeks in Australia and around the world, show that activism is necessary for us to survive. We need to be mindful of WHAT we need and HOW MUCH we need – it’s time for us to be mindful consumers especially now when we are reminded every day that our resources are NOT endless (contrary to popular belief). We need to understand that we don’t need two plastic bags for a Snickers bar.
Also, a personal note for the both of us and a little bit of reflection: it was ten years ago that we first had a little interaction here when you wished me a happy new year. You have no idea what that meant to me at that point of life. You taught me important lessons about kindness and graciousness by your example. As Meryl Streep said paying a tribute that kindness will be passed on an on and on…
To be honest, I miss our little chats from time to time. But I just see you rock the world and I am just so proud of you. Take care! I cannot wait to see the next season of Grace and Frankie! Also congratulations on your youngest grandson – I wish him a lot of joy in his life on a healthier planet and congratulations to the whole family on this blessing!

Love from your old blogging pal,
      Daniel

    • Hi, dear Jane!
I’m new here. I just wanted to hop on and say Hi! 😉
Congratulations on the new addition in your family.
      Happy New Year, Jane!!
I wish you all the best because good is all that you deserve,
      I love you.

      Margaret x

    • 2020 is going to be a fabulous, impactful year. We are going to take this country back and lead it back in the right direction! Thank you for your hard work in 2019. I can’t wait to read your book. Perfect! And Tulea is going to be one extremely happy dog!

    • Dearest Jane,
Like you, I found myself depressed and feeling hopeless. Not having the drive or influence that you have, I decided to take action within our county and small Colorado town, Salida. Knowing that you are fighting at the national level lightens my heart and gives me hope for our children and grand children (congratulations by the way on the new grand son!!)Thanks again and again and I’m with you in spirit today on Firedrill Friday – GO GET EM GIRL!!!!!

    • Hi, Jane!

About the new season of Grace and Frankie. Are Grace and Frankie going to realize their feelings for each other? And will they get married?

      • Not married, no. Grace is hetero.

        • Not for Frankie’s lack of trying!!!! Hahahaha!!! I love it when Frankie leaves us wondering about her sexuality. I was so hoping something would happen with that lady that came to clean/organize but here we are left wondering. Grace is like the “straight girlfriend” we lesbians have that we know they’re straight, we aren’t attracted to them, but they’re so funny to joke around with for shock value and because they have a sense of humor with fantastic comebacks.

      • oh geezzz I have to comment. NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo….. the most deepest of loves doesn’t have to be sexual. And sex doesn’t prove love. My friend so wanted me to change our close relationship into a sexual love thing and I went Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo… Not because I’m afraid to have sex with a woman, hell been there done that… it’s because the frame of reference for which all our deepest knowledge and love for each other would have changed dramatically and we would not ever be as close as we are. Just had to say something here. I see no sexual fit between G&F. It would be a turn off and remove all the growth in their relationship into one frazzled shallow word, “why?!”

    • Hi Jane,
you allways represents to me a women that is beautiful in the inside and the outside,
who is open minded (I saw your films from the 70’s and the series in Netflix)
a person with courage, Truthfull who say what’s on the heart and the most important has goodness in the heart.
      love. Oz.

    • Jane, my eyes were opened today how you are saving lives by raising the minimum wage: Today, in “The Economist”, they have a chart showing raising the minimum wage reduces the suicide rate -based on a study at Emory University! Thank you.

    • Dear Jane, You are a pillar of strength and resilience in the face of change and the unknown. Following your leadership has given me that small place inside my mind that invokes change. The thing I want to most learn from you is to overcome my fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear that I’ll be knocked down and when I am insidiously knocked down I go silent. Silence has been the tool I’ve used for the past 6 years in a small professional world that restricts a bold voice. How does one at 64 crawl out of the square peg and jump into a world that involves voices… all sorts of voices that push change and are proven to stand with their voice to invoke change. Words become like snow flakes.. and fade.. unless so much of it falls on everyone’s head to push them to do something if they are to face it. Maybe a weak analogy. Je ne sais pas. I struggle with my vision even in my own family where it’s split for not having the family cultural vision shared with my spouse. My children are split. My oldest is lost. My youngest (11, yes I said 11) has taken up the role of big-sis and controlling voice. And then there are your intense interviews and books I rely on to do a reset in my mind. There are bigger things than me in this world that I can help with and goddess knows I need to get my children involved where it is hard to do. So much of your past life painful events dovetail mine. Suicide, loss, bipolar mom, a dad involved in only whatever flows through his mind. At my age, and living life in reverse since having adopted in my 50’s and not being a woman of wealth and having to work f/t makes me split in more ways that one. My priority, however, is to find a community of people who share the same vision of healthy living, emotional cognizance, a peaceful mind, and a will to live with as small a carbon footprint as we can while voicing to our politicians to STOP taking money from the oil profiteers. And they need to start living like their country is on fire. <3 <3

      • Mary, where do you live? xx

        • Dear Jane, I JUST checked back on a whim. I NEVER in the world thought you would answer. I thought.. heck.. why not check out your blog to see what you did, how you were, and if you were checking in here. Voila! I live in Mystic, CT. It use to be a quaint whaling town 100 years ago, then sailors’ town.. with lots of townies and off beat artists.. and alas, I thought ah! This is for me. Well like all little quaint villages by the water in New England this one is high end touristy, but there are still a few of us hanging it there.

I go back to your interviews quite often to keep me afloat. No matter the subject of the question whether it’s thrown at you thousand of times, your statements are Fresh, Alive, Personal. I go back to the one with Oprah… I think it was with Oprah where you and your adopted daughter are together… correct me if I’m wrong here. I admire Mary Williams for her appearance of beloved loyalty to you. I have an adopted brown daughter. Two. One never ever let go of who, what, when, why she was born and born to a young woman who was useless as a Mom and neglectful of herself. To make a very long story brief… I have grown old and weary from raising this precious baby of mine and then watching her gravitate to the bad, the bruised, the rowdy, and the mindless. I shall take the risk here and tell you that she dropped into a bad crowd… imagine me charging into houses and pulling her out!… anyway… a bad crowd of kids, doing street drugs laced with Fentanyl(spelling?) and then stealing money from my neighbor. My heart broke like one of my Cut Glass Crystal Wine glasses on hard tile floor. Shattered. Traumatized. She’s got mental health issues…she’s always somehow eluded the therapists being on best behavior toying with something in the office while I acted stressed out and crying in my tissue. Fingers pointed to the Parent. Must be the Parent! At home she would return to her temper tantrums… and well the age of 18 came along and she was arrested in Aug 2019. Since then she’s been on house arrest and during COVID-19 this month didn’t she just burst being in the house. She went to the beach everyday with friends. I warned, yelled, chased, I can tell you Jane… I spent 95% of my mental real-estate on this child. It couldn’t have lasted. She “broke bond” as they say, she was pulled into court yesterday, I pulled on my big girl pants and approached the Judge who poo-pood me. My statement was that with mental illness comorbidity mixed in with a teenage brain of rebellion and separation from parents; house arrest is NOT a framework for long term… one or two years for a teenager! I made a motion that my kid be placed in a Teen Behavioral Residential setting so she can get the psych eval she needs… and the correct medications and intensive therapy.. but I need help doing that from the state. The Judge laughed at me after speaking up and delivering my plea. My daughter is now sitting in Jail… in isolation (due to covid-19) and I know she’s not living in the same reality we all are.

Anyway… that felt good. It’s sunny. It’s a good day to work from home and pop into the Jane Fonda blog. You really are a pillar of strength from which I learn and try to emulate. Just to draw on the strength so I can step through a storm w/o breaking apart.

I mentioned my heart shattering like fragile crystal.. Well today it feels like it’s ground beef. It’s there… red and filled with blood.. still pumping… but beat to hell. Thank god I have a beautiful bottle of aged Tequila and fresh lemons to get through today. That and a good swallow of CBD gives way to sleeping through the night. Love to you Jane. Love to your family and everyone who is dear to your heart. You are certainly blessed. So much more… but I am getting verbose. I leave it to you whether you feel inclined to comment. <3 Mary Vona

          • Mary, sometimes we just have to take a deep breathe and realize we’ve done all we can. Just be there with a loving forgiving heart but don’t let her destroy your life. Some things we can’t fix. xx

            • There you go being the voice of reason, wisdom, and love. Now my eyes are leaking tears. I have yet, these past raw days, to allow the demonstration of Love to push through the thicket of briars, barbs, and prickers of anger and disappointment in my voice to her when she calls begging, crying, and angry from Prison. But e-hearing you now… I will be mindful. Thank you thank you thank you. xx Mary

          • Mystic, CT. There was that movie, “Mystic Pizza” shot there. Our first glimpse of Julia Roberts. x

            • Yes! And remember the home in which her friend babysat, and the dad made a move on her? That home is spectacular with it’s widow walk turned into a Light House atop the home…. It’s nestled in Noank on a steep hill overlooking the marina. Wonderful. The movie was actually shot in Stonington Borough… which use to be a place that Barbra Streisand loved to do her Antique Shopping. And the building in which they shot the movie was an Antique store in which they cleared out for the Movie. Alas the tiny pizza parlor, in Mystic, the namesake of the movie has Mystic Pizza running on screens all day til midnight in the summer! 😀

Your sweatsuit: Love the rainbow w/your name down the middle of the jacket. Very diff and chic. Getting a set.

Trumpster and Covid: This time that COVID has the world and the U.S. by storm, within the eye of the storm is Trump and what he’s doing to roll back all the regulations on pollution control. Not sure yet all that he’s doing but how can we STOP this crazy batard! -Mary

    • Hi Jane. My name is James and I’m from England. Like you, I’m trying to save the world. I run a mental health text service and organisation that aims to prevent suicide. We’re only small at the minute and trying to raise funds so that we can be worldwide, and I was wondering if maybe you could write a post about us? I can send you any information you need. Thanks, James.

    • My office does send me things my fans send me but I have not receiuved the scarf you describe. xx

    • After a long week of packing and listening to the “impeachment” trial, I took a break to watch “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They.” What a powerful movie. No wonder it hit me so hard. Yet, my memory had lost so many details that I had even blanked out the ending. You got the Oscar for “Klute,” but this also was definitely an Oscar level performance. But you give your all in everything you do, so no surprise there. I’m so happy to have this movie in my collection. Gig Young. Who knew? Also steller. Now to get “Comes a Horseman.” That I’ve seen many times on TV.
Can’t wait to get to AZ. Not so long a drive to L.A. from Apache Junction. I’m going to have to get involved to change the color of that state. I know where I plan to start. Back to packing. House goes on the market on the 16th. Stay well. XXDona

    • HEY HEY! HO! HO!
Climate change has GOT TO GO !!

    • Your Soul is much younger than mine and I’m 35 years old. I live in a country I don’t like. I used to think that onde day I’ll change the World and do things I love. Not evident for everyone. I love watching you, you smell happiness hhh

    • URGENT/EMERGENCY

Dear Jane, I am re-posting to you the 11/9/19 post I made to you below, today Jan 28, 2020; 1/28/20. I think the Global Events that have occurred since that post bolsters my claims made in the post. On Dec 24, 2019, I posted asking you to watch for what may be “Signs from God” from around Dec 24 2019 to around Jan 7, 2020 more or less. Pres. Trump killed a Iranian General and Jan 7 Iran bombed US Bases in Iraq with Missiles. Rumors were B-52’s were flying ready to nuke Iran. We were/are still on the verge of WW3!

NOW, a World-wide “Pandemic” is spreading from China. If/when the quarantines come to the USA, you will not be protesting anymore; you’ll be under Medical Martial Law not allowed to leave your house.

I believe God is watching how you respond to what I ask of you, Jane, and if you help me with what I’ve asked, God may step in and take action to stop and postpone the Evil Events that are unfolding.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and I have that for you to see. For what I propose to work, you WILL see quick positive results for Medical Cures. I believe you WILL have a “Spiritual Experience”. ALL the good things YOU desire for Mankind can be achieved, God willing, from what I propose. It’s the simplest, quickest, easiest way to get things done.

EXAMPLES: Read (I suggest NASB Version) from {Joshua 14:10 Now behold, the Lord has let me live, just as He spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel walked in the wilderness; and now behold, I am eighty-five years old today. 11 I am still as strong today as I was in the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so my strength is now, for war and for going out and coming in.} and Isaiah 58:6-12. THESE PASSAGES WERE FOUND USING THE BIBLECODE COMPUTER PROGRAM ASKING ABOUT REVERSE AGING!

At 82, with the World going into Chaos, what have you got to lose?

Please help. Contact me, Jim: at chicagomiracle@aol.com

      { chicagomiracle November 9, 2019, 1:38 pm

Wow! The last time I posted a message to you In April 2014 I asked you to help me Save the World and now that something has happened that causes me to contact you now, you are trying to Save the World. What has happened NOW is GREAT NEWS for you as it re-affirms what I claimed then.

What I asked you to do and what I claimed was possible in 2014 was to help me in the effort to RAPIDLY find Medical Miracle Cures using clues found within the Bible using the Bible Code Computer Program. Cures such as Reversing Aging, curing Paralysis, and any other things God would be willing to reveal.

I told you I had had Spiritual Experiences that led me to try using the Biblecode Program to see if it worked and if there was any truth to it. It did work.

In April 2014 I PUBLICLY DOCUMENTED a request asking God to show you a SIGN in order to get you to help. God did that. But I was unable to make you aware of it.

NOW TREMENDOUS PROOF has come that God favors my endeavor and I’m right in what I’ve claimed.

In a Court of Law, a DIARY is considered PROOF or EVIDENCE of Events as they happened. I have been PUBLICLY DOCUMENTING my Spiritual Experiences since at least 2012, which includes real life experiences,PICTURES, and Dreams, etc. Even though some things seemed very odd or strange, if I thought they might mean something in the future, I REPORTED IT PUBLICLY.

NOW, AMAZINGLY, multiple unique elements from 2 different Spiritual Dreams,YEARS APART, have MANIFESTED into a very popular FILM released this year, that I saw for the first time on 9/13/19!

Not just general everyday ordinary things but VERY SPECIFIC UNIQUE THINGS! And what is the MAIN IDEA/THEME of this film that God has given me Dreams about? In the film a FAKE, STAGED, WORLD THREATENING CRISIS/EMERGENCY is attempted, to bring about a FAKE SAVIOR/MESSIAH to RULE the EARTH!

And what were some of the things referenced in the film God showed me in Dreams and in REAL LIFE? References to SPIDERS. A GIANT SPIDER WEB next to the Pope. A SPIDER Helicopter/DRONE. A FIGHTING MAN made out of WATER coming out of a FLOOR DRAIN while waiting to be FORCIBLY VACCINATED in Jerusalem that we took Buses to! References to Sports. References to Pennsylvania.

What this suggests to me, is God gave me these Dreams and Events that I PUBLICLY DOCUMENTED so when this film came along NOW, I could use this as PROOF and EVIDENCE of what I say I think I can do is TRUE and POSSIBLE.

AND that a FAKE WORLD CRISIS may be coming soon that will bring in a FAKE MESSIAH, the ANTI-CHRIST from the Book Of Revelations!

I have said before that I believe God MAY BE giving us the chance to POSTPONE the coming of the Anti-Christ, the coming Great Tribulation, and the Rapture by doing these Miracle Cures from the Bible to show the Evildoers there IS A GOD. AND this effort shows God’s Mighty POWER and MERCY. These Cures will be Gifts of Love from God to change Hearts and Minds.

THIS IS HOW WE CAN SAVE THE WORLD! This is what I am asking YOU to help me with Jane! The BONUS for YOU is, with Reverse Aging, you’ll have the body of a 18-25 year old again!

      Please help! I’ve got a lot more proof and evidence to show you personally. You can Email me, Jim, at: chicagomiracle@aol.com }

    • Dear Jane,

We’re so encouraged to see your advocacy work on this important topic and want to send our deepest thank yous’. We started a business a few years ago that works with film and television to make production more environmentally sustainable. The data we’ve collected over the years tells us that an average episodic production can emit as much as 400 metric tonnes of Co2 into the atmosphere ( to give some context that’s like driving 85 cars on the road for one year). This motivates us to do our part by transforming the industry one sustainable step at a time.

A big part of moving the dial is awareness and we also host an event each year that welcomes members from the film and television industry to gather and learn about sustainable production and what action they can take (whether be crew member, above the line, or talent). It’s called the Sustainable Production Forum.

We also look forward to attending a Fire Drill Friday in the near future!

P.S. We live for Grace and Frankie!

    • Dear Jane,

I would love to write to you and possibly send you a gift, but I have no idea where to send it. Can I have an address please for you to receive it?

Love the new season of Grace and Frankie by the way, you are amazing!!

      Lots of love,

      Georgia Thomas xx

    • Hi Jane! My name is Taylor. I just want you to know how much of an inspiration you & Lily are to me. You both are always making me laugh, even on the darkest days. The way you both go about things, is just absolutely phenomenal. As a young girl, I often struggle with many things. But thats when I turn to people like you, and it honestly makes everything feel so right. Sending my love to the both of you. & thank you girls for being you!!! Xoxo, Taylor

    • p.s. I finally ordered “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They, from Amazon along with Season 4 of F&G. I asked for Comes a Horseman, as well, but the computer glitched, so I have to re-order that. It will be my treat to me to watch these after so many years. D

    • Dear Jane, After asking you to keep a toe in blogging and you promised “a toenail”, I find myself not keeping up with my monthly hello to you. I plan to write an in-depth letter sometime in the future, but this is to say I am still watching, listening, supporting you here and in all that you are doing. I saw you on Kimmel, but missed the latest with you on Ellen with Lily. I binged season six, then turned around and binged it again. It’s the first season that I have loved the ending and not been filled with fear about the next season. Being a tall woman and heavy in the lower beam I could really relate to the RISE UP. I loved all of the episodes. While I appreciate the humor, I love the meat of it. The Nick ending shouldn’t have surprised me, but it did. I’m looking forward to season seven and your new book. Cousins, who also are avid watchers, have chosen to ration out the episodes but I just couldn’t do it. When you finish your book, you know it will be my #1 Christmas or birthday gift to friends and family. (They probably know that too.)
Anyway, as I have said, I’ve bought a home in Arizona so I am packing every day until midnight or later which is why I am AOL but once moved, I will join your Greenpeace affiliated army for climate change activism. (I announced this to my book club.) So dear Shero, I’m happy you survived the cold, the adversity, and hopefully are snuggling your grandchild and Tulea. your admiring fan with one N. Dona

    • Dear Jane,
I live in Australia and the devastation that is happening to my country just tear’s at my heart. All the lives lost, including 3 brave fire fighters from US, homes and all the beautiful animals and flora. I hope the governments can come together to try and reverse the climate situation for the sake of our existence.
      Warmest regards
      Jennifer

    • Happy birthday!!!!! Candita. xxx

    • Jane, Saw I segment on Amanpour tonight of you marching, followed by a segment with Bill McKibben, who mentioned April 23rd, 50th (?) anniversary of Earth Day, as a protest day at Chase Manhattan Banks across the country. If there is one in Phoenix, I could take part, but I don’t know who is organizing for that. Can you give me a suggestion of who to contact? I won’t hardly be unpacked but I want to start doing what I can. Dona

      • Stopthemoneypipeline.com is the website to go to to find out about the critical divestment movement and their big Chase Bank event in April. Thanks for wanting to be part of that!!!

    • Dear Jane,
If all goes as planned the house sale closes on the 23rd and I will do the first trip down to Apache Junction starting the 24th. Hope to have finished the move by April 7th. I’m downsizing so much it will be quite the job to fit my belongings into this tiny shoe. It only took 7 days to get a buyer, so the process has been fast.
I’ve continued to watch all debates, town halls, interviews with Amanpour and Firing Line, NewsHour on PBS, and CNN. I’m about politically saturated to the last strand on my head. I will have to make a decision in the next two days. The one decision I have made is NO MATTER WHO IS CHOSEN for the dems, I will vote for him/her Period. On my birthday, yet. My greatest birthday wish will be to have Trump OUT of that office. I find myself liking all the D-candidates, but very uncertain who can make it all the way. If I wake to find him still in office I can’t imagine how I will manage my despair. I will have to, so I will put one foot in front of the other, but still just the thought is overwhelming.
There is still so much to do. Find new medical coverage, Notify all services of address change, goodbyes to friends, besides squeezing my things into a U-Haul, and no access to TV for a while so I might miss what you are up to. Also, new email address so that will need to change on your blog as well. Stay well. XXDona

    • I write to you from Argentina. I´m in my forties and I have young children. They care so much about the glaciers that are melting in our country and that in fact belong to all mankind. It is terrifying to think that there is no time.
There is a well-known phrase that says: “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire “.
You inspired me. Thank you Jane!

    • I want to comfort you, Candita. You can stay in touch with him. Knowing you’re there for him will be so important for him. xx

    • Every* 😒🙄

    • Hello Jane,

I admire your whole hearted efforts to push this country ( and world ) into the right direction. Words cannot express the admiration I feel looking up to such a strong woman as yourself. I would LOVE to join a Fire Drill Friday, and plan to when I have some downtime from the road ( musician ). I wonder if, through the efforts of those fighting alongside you, we could expand to all 50 states!! I’m currently in Tennessee and would LOVE to see ANY kind of progressive movement here! Something to make me feel like I’m doing something again. Back where I’m from, Kentucky, we had quite a movement ( small, but powerful ) for standing rock, and education. Standing on the stairs of the Capitol never felt so empowering. To feel so passionate about something so important gave/gives some of us, who at the time felt/feel lost in all the noise, A sense of purpose

I Thank you with everything fiber of my being,
      Alyssa

    • Hi Jane,

Well I just can’t keep up with you anymore.

However, you are such a wonderful glam-ma (a glamorous grandma) and such an inspiration. In 2000 you wowed us with your return to the Oscars and 20 years later you did it again.
I can only applaud and be inspired.

      Jason xx

    • All the best for this year. I’ve always been a fan, Jane, and I hope you’ll forgive me for adding this issue, but Julian Assange is undergoing an extradition “trial” in Britain and we all should know how it will end. Please read this article at I feel it is very important. Public discourse is limited and in deep trouble. Please do what you can, everybody, to preserve freedom of the press.

    • Nice Post

    • Hello jane
I’m just saying wow. You look great! Your new hairstyle suits you very well! I saw her at the Oscar Awards and had to admire your new look! A really great hairstyle! You look adorable! As a hairdresser, I can only say that it is really good and to the point! You are beautiful!! Regards Barbara xxx

    • Jane,
I’m always happy to support your continuing passion to save the planet on your Fire Drill Fridays, so my first reaction at the photo of your march and the bus ride was positive. Then in light of the pandemic I found my next reaction was fear and upset at how close all of you were to each other, singing or shouting etc. It set me off. I feel so protective for you, Lily and Sam. I’m trying hard to adapt to these changes myself, because I feel a responsibility to the community I am moving into which has several 90 yr olds as well as 80 yr olds. I know this doesn’t matter and I shouldn’t say this, but I will be devastated to lose you or Lily even if I never see you again. Having you on this earth is just so very important to me. Please consider trying to be cautious for your family and friends who love you. I’m doing the arm and half distance suggestion and avoiding large crowds as much as possible. I’ll try to find a way to participate with a sign and be counted while keeping this protocol. Once we have a vaccine we can go back to normal, but for now, it’s a different world. I send white light to surround you, but let’s back it up with some modeling of healthy choices. Forgive me for intruding my vulnerability onto you. XXDona

    • I just visited Stopthemoneypipeline.com and read through what banks invest our money in the fossil fuel economy and Bank of America (BoA) is a Bully in the field of investing. And here I was thinking months ago while following you on Firedrill Fridays that Chase was the worst, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg! My ex pulled her money out of BoA and went straight through into a Credit Union. And that is what I’ll be doing this month. Imagine being catered to with services just coz you have a credit score of 840! I was BLINDED! Dang. I’m out BoA! Anyone with me?!!

    • Happy Birthday to you. Wishing you health, happiness, a lot of love and that you get all the support and encouragement you can in order to change politicians’ minds and heal our world forever.
      Much love,

    • Dear Jane! I just want to wish you a very Happy 82nd Birthday! I’m so grateful to you for your Fire Drill Fridays. Your movement is bringing so much needed attention to the cause! I’m so sorry I couldn’t physically be with all of you in D.C. today (I became a monthly donor to Greenpeace today to try to make up for it.), but I watched your rally, march and arrests, and I was moved to tears. It was truly beautiful to watch. What an incredible way to ring in your birthday! Seeing you, Gloria Steinem and so many others willingly get arrested for the cause (even on your birthday!) is so inspiring. I’ve never been arrested before, but you’ve got me seriously thinking about getting involved in Civil Disobedience. I’m beginning to fully understand just how important it is. I’m really excited that Fire Drill Fridays will be going nationwide in 2020. I cannot wait to get more involved here in Chicago or even somewhere in a neighboring state. Thank you for all that you do, especially for teaching generations how to resist and become activists. I wish you all that is good in life in the upcoming year. God bless you!
Jenny xoxo P.S. It was so great to meet you after your talk in Morristown, NJ two weeks ago. (I was the person who gave you the wooden nesting doll with your images painted on them. 😉) I had wanted to meet you for a long time so you made me very happy! 😊

    • Dear Jane, I sincerely wish you all the best and happy birthday 🍀 Feel warmly hugged ♥ ️ Greetings Barbara xxx

    • “I have studied why women tend to get braver with age and men don’t, but that’s for another time.” Would be very interesting to hear more, Jane.
I remember some Indian guru saying that old men get more feminine because earlier in life that side of men was socially repressed, so those reserves well up in old age, when they are relieved of social pressure to uphold a stereotype.
And he said older women get more masculine for that reason. The guru in question was questionable, as are all gurus, and himself seemed more aggressive in old age. Still, maybe his generalization was onto something?

    • Wow! I have been reading your blogs since the start. 12 years? Time sure flies by. Thank you, through those years, for allowing us to get to know you a little bit better. 12 years of gaining more and more respect for you. 12 years of learning so much from you. And now I have been able to learn even more from you as I have followed your Teach-Ins and Fire Drill Fridays. What an awesome idea! It is amazing to see your drive, as well as others, to educate on this important issue. I think it has made quite an impact. It is interesting that those arrested tended to be older ladies. Way to go! I can’t wait to see what takes place in 2020. How many more Fire Drill Fridays are you planning? I thought I had read somewhere that this Friday would be the last? As a teacher, it is difficult to find time to take off to join these weekday activities, but with a break now coming up, it is possible to join you folks. Though taking off time from work is still a possibility in the future. Of course, local Fire Drill Fridays would be great, but weekend activities would even be better. I realize that congress does not work on the weekends, but they would certainly hear our voices no matter what.
I also wanted to wish you a wonderful birthday. 82? No way!?! I had the honor of seeing both you and Lily here in Detroit. Your energy level and demeanor certainly didn’t seem like someone in their 80s, but now that I think of it, I am not sure what one in their 80s would act like! After seeing you, I am thinking 80s are still considered young!!!

    • Hi Jane,

My new theatre company, Couch Theatre, has become an official V-Day 2020 participant.

Our one-off charity event on 29th February is in aid of a women’s shelter in Hamburg. All proceeds will go to the women’s shelter- the 5th Hamburger Frauenhaus e.V. They will be present with an info table and will give a short talk after the performance about their work.

I wish I could send you our wonderful poster, but it’s not possible here. Sadly.

I have 10 wonderful actresses taking part in this production. Such a wonderful event. I’m very happy and excited.

      Love

    • Hi Jane, I hear you. I’ll stay in touch the old old fashioned way, this and letters or cards that you don’t have to answer. I had to take a loan out to buy a small trailer with an “Arizona room.” Getting the Washington home sold and moved hopefully in the next three-four months is my priority. Then, I’ll join your army where ever it is. This is a major downsizing and smaller footprint whose time is now. After I’m there I’ll have more money to be a part of your army. XX Dona

    • Hi, Jane!
I was listening to one of your recent interviews and one phrase you said got stuck into my mind: Now I’m old so I feel even more capable of standing up.” It’s something I also wish to feel when I’ll be your age.
And I wonder: Getting older makes us braver and more willing to speak up? Because I see a lot of elders around me that are feeling really cozy in their comfort zone and are afraid of stepping out of it for many reasons.
Happy and healthy birthday, amazing WOMAN!
And do not stop! Keep on “MOVING”!!!
      love you,
      Nicole

    • I am proud of how you are attacking the climate emergency. I would like to recommend a new book called Blowout by Rachel Maddow and is all about the history of the oil,gas & fossil fuel industries and how this dependence now has to end.

I am 78 yrs. old with rheumatoid arthritis which restricts my movements & prevents me from actively picketing with you. How can I be of help? I am an artist and perhaps could be of use.

      I applaud your activism. Barbara

    • Jane did you read the letter too?

    • Hello Jane, I had mail from them in my mailbox today. I am overwhelmed. Thank you very much. You made me the happiest person! Even if I will never meet her personally. Thank you very much ♥ ️
      Greetings Barbara

    • You are such an inspiration ❤️ Love you dearly

    • Hi Jane
I am so happy you are still working for the betterment of the country. I hope you will see this post and know it was your strength, dedication to causes, and the grace you exude daily. I was hooked on opioids, it was watching you speak, act, and your heart felt dedication that lead me to become sober on my own and hope no one else has to suffer the problems this epidemic caused in my life. My only regret was being sick last year and not getting to hear you speak. My hopes is I will get to hear you speak live very soon!

    • Hi Jane,

You likely don’t remember, however we briefly met when you were filming On Golden Pond. My folks have a camp a few doors down from where the movie was filmed. It is still one of my favorite movies!

I am writing you for two reasons. First, to say you have once again inspired me with your amazing efforts to help others and give back. In fact, I believe your fire drill Fridays initiative is the most important thing you have undertaken so far. THANK YOU!

Second, I see you are going to be doing a show in the Boston area next week. This is my neck of the woods and I would love the opportunity to talk with you while you are here. I have an idea for your next initiative that is not only creative but also has a very positive focus and even a wee bit humor. Just enough to breakdown barriers in order to encourage people to listen and then commit to taking “EcoAction”. To learn more please visit http://www.ecoenlighten.org.

Thank you again for all you do, and I very much hope we are able to talk when you are in the area.

      Cheers,
      -Jeff Ackley

    • Hello Jane, I hope you are fine !? I wish you a nice 2nd Advent and another good time in Washington! They are really adorable! Greetings Barbara ♥ ️

    • Hello Jane, I wished you HNY in reply to your blog and in my reply stated that I hoped 2019 would bring rain as we were (we thought at the time) in severe drought. Well almost 12 months later we have been blessed with little rain. Last year we received 13 inches and this year to date, 6 inches. We live in a rich cattle country and yet our rainfall is less than a desert. We continue feeding our cattle (we are lucky we still have water) and have spent in excess of $1.5m on feed. Coupling with this is the mega bush fires around us. Northern NSW, Australia is literally dry and on fire. I agree we need dramatic change. My family are strong and we support one another and are determined to get through the drought. I am proud to tell everyone of you- the cheeky, strong and feisty ‘ol American chick- and what you are achieving. If you have plans in Australia I would love to support you and be part of it.

    • Hi Jane, I’m inspired by your true commitment to make a difference for Climate change. As a sculptor I’ve created a series of Climate Change Sculptures that i am searching opportunity to place in the greater Public Realm to communicate + remind communities of our most pressing priority, the need to take immediate action now to save our fragile planet – http://bit.ly/EnviroSculpture

    • You are kinda naive, aren’t you? I am too, I suppose for thinking that trip to North Vietnam was anything other than a propaganda stunt. Well, it saved my life and many others and anyone who can’t figure that out is just an idiot and we have an entire country just full of idiots. Myself included, I suppose. It’s kinda unavoidable, after all, we are all public school educated. Idiots educating idiots. Kisses.

    • Hi Jane. Something you should know. Our Federal Reserve has financed both sides of every war since it’s founding in 1913. Especially, the war that was meant to never end. Vietnam. The real purpose of the Vietnam war was to continue the financing of our national war machine. We had to do something with all of those surplus bombs left over from WW II. Else, the financing of our war machine would have stopped. So, we picked on a country that was well established in the art of war (Vietnam). It was a death trap for our soldiers, because every battle that was ever fought by our soldiers in Vietnam had been fought over and over and over again. The Vietnam soldiers would show up for the battles that they were assured to win from experience with other armies like France and Greece and stayed at home for those that they were destined to lose. By going to Vietnam you saved countless of our children’s lifes. We’ve all been brainwashed for over 63 generations by the very same people who have started every war since the founding of the Illuminati in 1776. Anything about that date that sounds familiar? You’ve literally been brainwashed by our phony history to switch sides. The winners of every war write the history books and the only winners of any of the USA’s wars have been our Illuminati owned Federal Reserve.

    • To make a difference in this world I believe we need two things:

      1. Strong, powerful individuals who dare to speak up and put their face, heart and entire soul on stake and

      2. Business, who are built on a strong Code of Ethics.

You Jane are the first one and we are the second one.

Please get in touch if you want to hear more and let’s work together for the sake of healthier Planet Earth.

    • .. Well, just in case you read this Jane, I was the one with the black Abraham Lincoln hat on. And I sat down right next to you At the Capitol building Rotunda. And boy howdy I sure was thrilled. More importantly message received And I thank you again for all that you’re doing. Xo

    • I was in Washington DC on November 15th at Jane’s Fire Drill Friday’s. Three weeks before that, I heard for the first time Greta Thunberg’s third speech to the United Nations. Then, that very same day, I heard what Jane Fonda was putting together (Fire Drill Friday’s) after she heard Greta Thunberg Speech at the United Nations as well. I was appalled and shocked. And it was at that moment that I was on the same page of the information in regards to climate change. I couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. And that was what catapulted me to go to Washington DC and protest. I came back with information and steam to move forward and multiply it. And after a few personal setbacks, it’s taken me this long to get to Jane’s web page and really make a difference and be a participant of the climate change movement. I had the very good luck and honor to walk right next to Jane and help hold up the protest sign. And at an appropriate moment, I put my hand on her hand, and I said, Jane Thank you for doing what you’re doing. And she turn to me with those beautiful blue eyes and said very kindly and heartfelt to me,thank you for coming.( a few minutes before that, she turned to me and corrected me in the “chant” .. “What do we want, A Green New Deal!” I was screaming, like everyone else but right in her ear, “A New Green Deal!” I said, oh, I’m sorry! And she said “that’s okay. I’m glad you’re here.” Xoxo

    • My name is Sagatiaej. I’m from the Tobique Band of Maliseets, 1st Nations. I want to thank you all for standing up for the Earth and for the future of our children. When I was 15 years old, my father died in a construction accident at work. I was in homeschooling due to bullying and graduated high school about a year later. I started college early. First semester I got all A’s, nine classes my first semester, but my mother was grieving and couldn’t handle raising children or taking me to school every day. Thougth I told her I wasn’t ready to be on my own, she moved me out anyway. The next semester I dropped out halfway through and ended up homeless with no home to go home to. So I made the best of it and hung out in Waterville at a place called The Art Academy, run by Rodrick Stewart, a local artist from Manhattan. He fed me often, taught me about art and philosophy. One day someone asked if I wanted to go to NYC. I asked when they were coming back. They said they weren’t. So I went, with $37 to my name. This was 1998-1999. I started out on the streets sleeping and playing guitar in subways. Due to high pollution exposure w/no way to get out of it, I developed an allergy to the sun called solar dermatitis. I got so thirsty I drank bad water and got very sick because I was so desperate for water that I drank from a polluted stream. I tried the old way of cleansing and filtering with grass, charcoal, rocks and birch bark, but the grass and the dirt were also contaminated. So I got very sick. The hospital called my mother and told her I would die, but she did not have the money to reach me. I surprised them and got better instead. Months later, I traveled across the country with my guitar. I hit every state but two. I hit a lot of providences in Canada and lived on many reservations. I returned to the tribal side of my family and they helped me heal from my father’s death, the murder I’d witnessed, the abduction I’d suffered and a long list of other things that happen to little girls who float around in the world. I made a spiritual commitment. On my fourth year, I had a heart attack. I had contracted Epstein Barr Virus, from bad water and communal sharing. I was in Elsipogtog Canada at the time. We couldn’t not drink From the well that year because non-natives had tried to poison the water with rat poisoning. They’d also left needles in the ground pointing up where people were meant to dance barefoot. So we couldn’t drink that water and had to bring water in. We shared water during tree ceremony and preparation sweats. I also collected rainwater in a spirit bowl and drank from that as is our tradition to take in what creator gifts us during our fasts. At some point I contracted EBV, which doesn’t harm most people but can become chronic and deadly for Asians and Native Americans as we have little or no anti-bodies against it. It caused a pericarditis which led to a heart attack at 26 years old. The reason for sharing this is because this story gives people an idea of what the homeless face, even what the animals face when they are not wrapped up safe in a home away from the damage that is being done to the earth and to the water. I still have problems. I have stomach paralysis and nerve pain. I have high white blood count and high platelets and they don’t know why. I have a lifetime of suffering for the years I was exposed to the natural world. Animals live in the damage we do constantly. We live detached from the damage so we can’t see what is actually being done or feel it. It is too easy to deny when wealth can let us live so detached from the damage we have done and continue to do. My great-grandmother who lived to 103, remembered a time when we could drink from the rivers or from natural springs and it was a safe and normal thing to do. In such a short time we have done all this damage. We cannot continue like this. My family has old stories. They talk about a time before the great flood, when this all happened before and the reason the Native people try to stay living in balance with nature is because they learned first hand what happens to people who don’t, hearing about large tribes from the south who’d destroyed themselves living out of balance. They say that’s what caused tribal people of this land to insist so strongly that living in balance with the Earth Is the only way we can live and we are taught to take from the earth it’s seven generations behind us in mind. I don’t know if those stories are true, but even if they are not, somewhere some how, our people learned not to live out of balance; not to extort the animals and plants and the we were taught that the only true unforgivable thing to do was to hurt innocence with malice or to harm the “water babies” or the spirits of the water which carries its own memories and holds the secrets of all life. In a perhaps more modern way, I believe in the values of those ideas and most importantly, I believe that we need to protect the water. Oil and water is like the blood and tears of Mother Earth. We are not meant to extract and profit off of her blood and tears. We won’t destroy the Earth. When she is tired of the misbehaving, she will simply sneeze and be done with us. Then she will take centuries to heal, if she can even recover from the few hundred years of damage we’ve done in the name of profit. It’s wrong. Everyone knows it’s wrong. Those standing up for doing it, are profiting or hoping to profit from the extortion of it, but in their hearts, they know this is wrong. They get angry because they feel their wealth or road to wealth might be threatened. There are other kinds of wealth… more valuable that we are all missing out on. We need to choose better. Thank you for your time. All my relations. 🙏🏽

    • Dear Jane, you make great u commit yourself to other people! I think they are great u what they do everything u commit u no matter what some people say to you u are jealous of them, they do not listen! You are a lovely and great person with a lot of heart! I admire you very much u you are a great role model for me and give me strength !! I love you ♥ ️ Greetings Barbara

    • Hi dear Jane! Glad to read you on the blog. But I’m glad to know that you’re going to take care not to go to jail again. You must take care because you are more useful outside of it. I live in another country. I’m from Uruguay. I speak and write in Spanish although I understand English in context. I use the translator here. Hope it’s understandable.
Today I woke up and read sad news. In Bolivia, a country close to ours, US soldiers train the police. At this moment, the Bolivian government is on the verge of a coup d’etat. We wonder why. Sure! We know that Bolivia has “much lithium” so necessary for military use but also for electric batteries. Unfortunately, Trump is stuck with this. He supports the blows in Latin America, so rich in natural resources.
For all this, I ADMIRE your intelligence and your fight for climate change, for the lowering of your country’s budget in the military field, since the desire to lead and extend is as great as it is unnecessary. People want to live in peace !!! Enough of wars and confrontations where the most vulnerable are killed first.
Your fight is important. I wish you ALL THE ENERGY AND HEALTH OF THE WORLD !!! It takes MANY “JANE” like you !!! I love you and GO ON! A big hug from this Uruguayan to a brave of all time !!! 😊😊😍😍🇺🇾

    • Jane, I’m so touched by everything you’re doing for saving our planet and so very proud of you. If you’ve been warned about the possibility of spending 90 days in jail it’s wise as you already said to step away and focus on what you can do from now on. You can definitely be more effective outside jail.
I’m sending my good vibes and love to you <3!

      • Hi again, Jane!
I saw you’ve attended GCAAP Empower Party this week and I hope that your team from your office in Atlanta handed you a package sent from the States by my friend who lives in Washington so I can make sure it gets to you.
You’ll find inside the Romanian traditional blouse I’ve promised to sent you this last summer.
On the back of the package is written my name and her address.
The package was received on November 19th.
        USPS Tracking Number is 9505 5114 0658 9260 3374 69

Sending my love and good vibes to you,

    • You’re inspiring me every day. I am learning a lot about and I am in awe with you and your fight, how brave and amazing you are. I love you.

    • Dear Ms. Fonda,

I was at the last Fire Drill Friday on November 9th. I live in New York, and have a wonderful friend named Emma who goes to American University in Washington D.C. After learning about the start of Fire Drill Friday, I would eagerly read the news every week, waiting for which topic your team would choose to discuss, and watch the Facebook teach-ins religiously. Emma and I would talk each week about your protests, and how I felt so trapped with my tight schedule and being in New York instead of DC, so far away from your action. One day, something snapped inside my head and suddenly I couldn’t take being on the outside anymore. I bought an Amtrak ticket to D.C. I borrowed my roommate’s red jacket. I packed my bag, and I called Emma.
We arrived at the southeast lawn of the U.S. Capitol right at 11 am on Friday, and were immediately knocked off our feet by your speakers. You are so passionate, Jodie Evans is so fiery, Krystal Two Bulls is so inspirational. And of course, Ben and Jerry’s dedication to using their platform to bring awareness to the climate crisis is more than admirable. The march began, and Emma and I started walking in the general direction of the crowd, not sure when we’d actually start moving or how any of this worked. Suddenly someone, a member of your Fire Drill Friday team presumably, said “hold this” and handed me a piece of the long, black “Remove Trump” banner. I looked to my immediate left and realized I somehow was two people away from you. I couldn’t take my eyes off of the row of passionate, inspiring, dedicated, powerful people holding the same banner as I when I looked upwards and made eye contact with you. Through our sunglasses we locked eyes, made mutual faces of excitement and anticipation, then nodded in a mutual understanding of what we were about to do. We began to march.
There are no words to describe the feeling of what happens during the Fire Drill Friday marches. There are hundreds of people walking as one, raising their voices in solidarity for a cause we all believe in above anything. We walk, we sing, we chant, we hold hands and smile and push onward. And at the front of that spectacle this past Friday? Me and Emma, 20-year-old college students from the same rural town in Massachusetts who suddenly decided that we would not sit still any longer. Being a part of the beating heart of the climate justice movement is a feeling that will stay with me always.
Thank you for creating Fire Drill Friday’s. Thank you for encouraging myself, Emma and others to scream at the top of our lungs that our planet is dying and we need solutions NOW. Thank you for teaching us that our voices matter in a fight as large as climate justice. Thank you for giving us a place to put our passion, a place to be with like-minded people and discuss what we believe in. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.

      All my love,
      Gianna DiReda

P.S. I’d feel weird if I didn’t also include a thank you for your workout videos- doing those for years is probably the only reason I had the arm and core strength to wave my Fire Drill Friday sign above my head for hours yesterday. You’ve taught me so much, in more ways than one.

      • Gianna, what a beautiful post! I’m so glad things worked out for you and your friend. I LOVE it when folks just decide to come on down. This must become the new normal as climate gets worse, moire creatures go extinct, people die and the Fossil Fuel Industry tries to keep us ignorant. We MUST amass in the streets in greater and greater numbers. That’s always what creates change. So thanks to you for your guts!!!!

    • Jane,
I want to thank you for everything you do!! I am learning soo much from your teach-ins on Thursdays and I also watch the live fire drill Friday’s. I wish I could be there! You are an inspiration! I live in Greenbay Wisconsin, but was born in Michigan and want to know is there going to be fire drill Friday’s in every state soon. I would definitely support it!! I’m on the kinda quiet side trying to find out who I am so what does a quiet Michigan girl do to support you! I know there aren’t a lot of quiet Michigan girls.lol. I’m more the follower type . You are a great role model and I look up to you. Thank you for being you!
      Stacey schorr

      • Stacey, I really hope there will be a Fire Drill Fruiay in Michigan. I will do my best. And when we finish the final season of Grace & Frankie next summer, I will try to spend time in Michigan wih Fire Drill Fridays. xx

    • Gotta love JF. Make sure you keep warm!

    • And the point of my 4th post is John 3:20 “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.”

The Evildoers are AFRAID, Jane! And if we love them, we should say we are not here to expose and judge you, but to help you to change for the better and thus save them and others from harm. No matter what an Evildoer has done, Jesus paid the price for their evil deeds IF they change their Evil ways and do God’s ways! And we won’t just SAY things, but do Medical Miracles as PROOF. Activism at its finest.

      Email me, Jim: chicagomiracle@aol.com

    • Dear Jane, I hope you are fine. I just want to tell them that I’m going to send a fourth letter to them, hoping that it will finally reach them. And thank you for your effort! Greetings from Germany her Barbara xxx

We know that climate change is spooky. That’s why we’re live with Jane Fonda, Emira Woods, and Eve Ensler to explain how Women and Climate are so intrinsically connected. It is no trick that women bear the burden of the climate crisis, but it is a treat that they lead the way to climate solutions.

But would I like to ask them if they still receive and answer their fan mail from Atlanta and Beverly Hills? I sent them a letter to these addresses in August and would just like to know if they received them. To find out, I can unfortunately only find out here on their blog. Please excuse this question. It would be nice if you could answer this question. I wish you a good time in Washington. Dearest greetings from Germany xxx Barbara

    • Dear Jane, developing countries worry about changing although their resources are minimal, BUT the big countries, which have the real power, care more about filling the pockets of a few and are slaves to their greed. GREEN BEW DEAL bothers them because it “attacks their comfort”. I follow you on the networks from my country. Hopefully, what they do on Fridays will help people and your congressmen and business people to become aware that YES can be changed. A big hug from URUGUAY 🇺🇾😍😍 LOVE flor SAM and YOU!!!😘😘😘

    • Dear Jane, I watched your first Teach-In on your blog since I’m not on Facebook. I liked Sam’s comments on HOPE, your comment on moderation being radical and empathy is enlightened self-interest. True. True. I made note of your concern only people with a GOOD wage can be prepared to handle the burden of a carbon budget. And I do understand that racism, poverty, greed have got us here.
I had the sound turned up 100%, but often I couldn’t hear Joanna, for two factors that the cars sloshing thru rain here was competition and second she spoke to Sam and you instead of to the camera. Both you and Sam for the most part knew to raise your voice and direct it to the camera which helped. I will look forward to the 24th, but may miss the next as I will be on the road to Arizona. (I’m driving not flying.)
I received a reply of sorts from Sen. Maria Cantwell in regards to my email on asking her to be radical and support the Green New Deal. She did not mention GND but instead listed all that she had done to support our needs to meet climate change, i.e; Carbon Limits & Energy for America’s Renewal, (CLEAR) which includes a monthly dividend to help the lower and middle class to meet the resulting energy price increases. (This seemed aimed at dealing with the concern like having a good wage.) She thinks this will guarantee that the US will meet emission reduction targets and our international commitment. She also mentioned S. 1425 regarding research for the Ocean and S. 47 to extend the Land & Water Conservation, Management & Recreation ACt. She cited other legislation like $7,500 tax credit for consumers who purchase electric vehicles. (I laughed at that.)
I’m only on page 24 of the very long introduction to ON FIRE. After I read it, I will be better able to answer Cantwell, with a thanks for all you have done, now here’s what and why you need to do more that supports GND.
I was thinking of sending you a copy of her letter. Not that you have time for this (HAH HAH!) maybe someone working with you? It would be helpful to have some insightful comments from someone who know this better than I, so I can construct a strong response with salient points. That is my next step after writing the first letter. Canned letters don’t get much attention so I am not asking for that. And I will continue to read and learn from your tutorials etc, but if you want to move the dial especially toward the GND goals, then the letter needs to acknowledge what that person has done and what that state needs to have done next to support the GND. Perhaps, a discussion in another tutorial since you are trying to lift awareness. State by state, good things done, where they can move toward the GND goals.
So dear Sam is no longer a virgin to being arrested. Good for him, he’s ahead of me. I appreciate that he is doing what he is doing. I enjoyed his comments. I’ve always appreciated his acting skills. I hope you didn’t get hurt & someone gave you a hand getting into the paddy wagon. with love & admiration, Dona

Although I don’t understand everything perfectly, I can say that I know what you said today, you, Sam and Joanna. You have to have hope to restore the weather. We must trust people, but, my big question is, by choosing our rulers and they will come to power, will they keep their promises? We need hope on a global level … pir young people who have woken up and are pushing. You have to help them !!! And we must insist on changing this world in which we live where consumerism is slowly killing us. From Uruguay, small country I send you a big hug. THANKS FOR BEING !!! 😍😘🇺🇾

I would love to have a more direct way of sending you a copy.

    • When I saw that you had been arrested on the steps of the capitol building I immediately smiled. The publicity this made was perfect. It is so in your blood to protest and I love it! This is the Jane I love, respect, and admire. Thank you for helping lead the fight on such an extremely important crisis. I will tune in on Thursdays at 7:00 to hear the teach-ins. Of course, I would also love to join the fight on the front-lines. I will check out more of the details. May I ask you a question? Why were you arrested? Was it because you are not allowed to protest on the steps of the capitol?

I already do a lot for the environment. I already protest in Hamburg, Germany in support of Greta – Fridays for the Future as it’s called here!
Can you believe the negativity she’s experiencing? Horrific!) And if I’m ever in DC I will come and join you.

      Love
      Jason

    • Jane, I am so inspired by your activism and also the student strikers. Much pike you, I am reading Naomi’s book and it is very troubling, but also very important to find out what is actually happening to our climate. As a 15 year old, activist like you are inspiring me everyday to stand up for what I believe in and to find out the truth and put ourselves on the line in order for the greater good! I can’t wait to meet you and Lily on October 30th in Detroit. I also admire the work lily does for Voice For The Animals. I very much look forward to watching the live teach-ins on Facebook and I look forward to becoming more involved in activism and educating myself about current situations. -Kennedy

    • Hi dear Jane! How are you?
See how they took you prey, spy, hands back as if you were a criminal mw broke your heart. I know that you are strong and brave; that you give yourself body and soul to those causes that you consider fair. I know your voice rises and annoys. You say you are inspired by young environmentalists but you are their light. Your inner fire is like a tsunami that takes everything ahead. Many will learn from you right now. Some time ago you wrote about “FAME”, which was not important. At that time I wrote you in my mother tongue, Spanish, and you answered “how I would like to understand what you say”. I almost died of emotion so I used the translator as now and I replied “wishing you would return to the post” !!! It wasn’t like that, but I’m going to tell you something. Fame is important when you surf the wave and don’t fall. You have the strength of Grace and Frankie and your last name but, most importantly, it is your way of hanging towards others. As far as I’m concerned, I love the actress but I love and admire your activism more. You never decay You are pure and “renewable energy!” You are an example of struggle and dedication, of resistance and resilience. From my country, very far away. I follow and admire you. And I keep a dream: to know you! (I will save some pesos and continue learning English! ! 😂) I send you a warm hug and I pray for you, for your health, for your life! I love you a lot! BE CAREFUL !! 😏😊, 😍😘

    • It’s almost been 50 years since you were arrested in Cleveland, how does it feel 50 years later? Also pretty funny how they used zip ties this time around, they’ve gotten smarter.

    • This is so awesome! I wish I was old enough to attend, and closer to Washington… The part where you said “Me getting arrested, not my first time…”, I cackled. 😂

      • Jane, I wish I knew you were in Minneapolis again. Welcome back so soon since you were here this summer. Hope to see you again soon!

    • Go Jane!!!! So proud of everything you’re doing! You inspire all of us.

Also, side note – I know Vasser isn’t related to you (biologically) but I find she looks a lot like you lol

    • Jane, So I have repeated a version of the above message to both Cantwell and Heck. If you see something that needs revision, I hope you says so.
Now to the debates. I’m going to throw some money towards Klobuchar. I know she is not saying a strong support for GND with “aspirational” language, but I think she will go there. I want to keep her in the race.
Second, I was SO PLEASED that no sooner did I message you that I was looking for you on Amanpour and there you were! YEEAAH! You did very well. I loved the that way you answered the question you WANTED asked, not the old hash of Vietnam. Good going. You side stepped much better than Elizabeth Warren. She could learn a thing from you. And she will need to before the next debate. I expected better from Christiann than repeating the old ruts of other journalists.
I think it is interesting that politicians like Biden say as Americans we can set our will to do something and do it. So take that thought and apply it to GND. Going to the moon sounded radical back in the day but we got it done. GND is far more important than having gone to the moon. It’s the survival of all species, including ours, and the planet. All we need to do is our part as Americans in partnership WITH the rest of the world. We will not all be moving to outer space in 20 years. Let’s ask the 1% if that’s really appealing to them. Maybe a fun vacation, but for the rest of their lives? Anyone with claustrophobia want to wear a whole head-mask to breathe the rest of your life, let alone all of the other basic functions with a space uniform? You burn it, you lost it. Gone for good. No returns walks down memory lane. Enough. Dona

    • I emailed Senator Patty Murray just now. Here’s basically what I said; Dear Senator Murray, As your constituent, I want you to know that while I may not be getting arrested on Fridays in protest on the Capitol steps, I do entirely stand with & support Jane Fonda in her support of the Green New Deal. I am a liberal Democrat who has supported Gregoire, Cantwell and you in all aspects including by vote. I now realize that being moderate in voting in this issue is not enough. I appreciate what you have done but am now asking that in this issue you be as radical as it takes to get us off fossil fuel. As an elder with no children or grandchildren, I could close my eyes and exit easily except my heart has always seen your children as my children, and your grandchildren as well. So I recycle for them, I make change for them, and I beg for them. Please use all the knowledge and power that you have garnered with our support and lead us to change away from fossil fuel. Sincerely, Dona

    • Hi Jane, I hope u r well. I’m glad you are an advocate for our population and planet. I wrote you a letter and posted it on your FB timeline photo where you are pic’d with Mr T Turner and another gentleman. Please take a moment to read it. I’m reaching out to you because I’m launching a project that provides consolidated services that include green housing and office space for seniors and healthcare/wellness providers respectively, bridges the social gap between youth and seniors through a volunteer beneficence program and disrupts the wasteful practices of our current healthcare system, urban planners, consumers…by cutting costs all of the way around and vastly reducing reliance on fossil fuel energy. I’d like to match or improve on the Bullitt Centre – Seattle- accomplishment : energy usage of 32 kWh/square meter and feeding so much more energy back into the grid. Mr Turner was my first point of contact. In my research this morning I was saddened to find out about the LB Dem diagnosis. Im requesting your audience as well since you are a vested member of the global conservation movement. On a side note- We need to set a standard here in Atlanta- home of Turner Enterprises and Turner Foundation. This project is to launch right here in metro Atlanta. I need your expertise and accumulated wisdom. Together we can set the precedence here and abroad and totally disrupt wastefulness and neglect of our people and planet.

    • Hello Jane, I respect what you do for other people. I follow your blog and your social media from Germany every single day. It would be nice in spite of everything to hear from you again 😊 I send you greetings from Germany and all the best for you. xxx Barbara

    • Jane, I wrote much of the climate dystopian epic “Man Shall Follow” during the days I visited my friend Bruce who lived immediately to the south of you on the ridge above Santa Barbara. I performed the Sound Cloud version in 1986 when there was still hope. One of every nine doomed people who listened to it have downloaded it over the past 6 years.

    • Ah Jane, you leave me speechless. I will buy the book and share it. Already have emailed all the book club to see all this on your blog. I so want to join this in some physical strong-like-you way, but wonder how long I would manage in jail without my meds, my CPAP, with my stiff arthritic body. But you did it, do it etc. Oh I wish I had been one of your exercise followers. I think radically. I’m aware but I have been more moderate in voting, trying to figure what will sell on the whole while moving the dial slowly toward what needs to be done. This house afire approach does really challenge me to follow the more radical choice. Dare I hope that Warren could make it? Can we focus on the most important issue of our life, when all the other needs are used to distract us? I want Universal care for all Americans not just Medicare. I want dental care as part of that total care. I want a livable wage for every family. Fair wages. If no one candidate has the right package but does this one most important earth-home-on-fire approach, can we keep the focus on that? Maybe, with more people like you. Well, maybe I’m not speechless, but I am still just in total awe of you. Dona

    • Jane, you’re on your way to Bertrand Russell’s peaceful resistance record when he was 90-something.

    • I’m so happy you mentioned your plan to NOT buy any more clothes. If icons such as yourself can show the world that fast fashion is a disaster, perhaps young women will boycott the wasteful purchase of stupid “stuff.”

    As […]

    • oops – I forgot to mention the university! (speaking of fight or flight thinking…haha) San Francisco State University!

    • Let’s build our social currency by taking a tried and true peer based, small group community and resiliency building practice from a prestigious university called “Critical Reflection” and rally the 20,000 or so grads who internalized this practice and launch it thru the public sphere, meeting up in coffee shops, pubs, libraries, bookstores, wherever and everywhere 5-10 can gather for an hour or two once a week. I bet right now we can spin a World Wide Web of small groups meeting everywhere. Rethink big vs small – like Margaret Mead reminded us; “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world; indeed, it’s the only the thing that ever has”. Let’s build this as a hub for everything else we do. I want to connect with those I march next to. I want to collaborate and innovate and employ a science based tool for maintaining our resilience and integrating wisdom into our movement, knowing resilience allows us to be calm in the storm and maintain access to the neo cortex, because our fight or flight response might get me to show up, but it’s our executive functions that bring about peace.

    • This goes to show you get clarity from honesty. Sincerity is what spells it out, not dumbing down, and there’s a clear-as-day contrast here between Fire Drill Friday’s message and the p-r coming out of the White House.

    • Hi Angel Jane,

I needed to be in DC anyway so playing catch up to your work with climate.

How can I help you and the others while you’re staying in DC. I grew up there and only an hour & half ride with Southern DE. Let me know how can I get in contact with you about assistance. I can work around your schedule and make time. Let me know how to start. Tomorrow will not be good because gonna need a rental car head start. I’m planning a trip so I can help out where help is needed. ggodlove77@gmail.com I don’t want to post phone number but that’s email I’m using for special work purpose.

      I def want to help.

      Thanks,

      Hasani

      • You actually think she will read your email begging for a rental car to help out? If you were steeled in your beliefs, you would walk or ride a bike.Mind you, the jacket she is wearing cost about the same as a rental car for a month. Maybe she will respond to you while flying back to California in her private jet.

        • Poor, uninformed, angry you, Adonis. I feel sorry for how you approach things. And, BTW, never had a private jet.

    • Thank you for this, Kristen. xx Jane

    • i’m so inspired by your motivation to make a difference and get arrested every friday— someone pointed out that the police use plastic handcuffs on you each week, maybe bring your own; think they’d like pink fluffy ones?

    • Wow!

Please help! I’ve got a lot more proof and evidence to show you personally. You can Email me, Jim, at: chicagomiracle@aol.com

    • Jane, Now in Arizona, caught you on PBS with Judy Woodruff. Excellent interview. Smooth, filled with clarity, honesty and truth. One of the best yet. You are doing what is important, needed. I’m still reading, ON FIRE. I can’t yet do the getting arrested act, but there may come a day. Don’t think I haven’t thought of joining you there, but I’d be more trouble than I’m worth with-out meds etc. For now, I’m just shining a light on you to my friends and anyone who will listen. Read the book, get knowledgeable. So keep shining your light, Jane. All you do counts. The ripples are happening. XX Dona

    • Jane, your climate crusade is impressive, but alone can’t work. Reason: the economy. Tens of millions of average people will initially be hurt by effective climate action, and they vote. 50 million jobs are already doomed by Artificial Intelligence. E.g., in 5 years 10 million truck drivers will be out of work. We cannot solve the climate issue without a whole new kind of economy, and it’s not socialism. I have been working on that issue for 30 years and have come up with a solid answer that will strongly appeal to at least 95% of all people, including capitalists. If you want to forestall climate disaster, help me find a publisher for this book. It may be the last and best real hope.

      Good luck.

      • Bob, The Green New Deal envisions a “new economy” (not socialism but heavily regulated and humane capitalism) with just and fair transitions for workers who are displaced due to transitioning from fossil fuels to a clean energy system. Watch @firedrillfridays on Facebook or Instagram at 7pm this Friday when we discuss fair transitions.

    • Hi Jane – I have an idea for a ‘makeover’ show, ala “Queer Eye”, focused on making over environmental habits. For example, helping people sort out their energy options and choosing from both an environmental and financially smart perspective; installing solar panels on their roofs; working with local environmental consultants to make the wisest food choices, etc. All with an eye to saving money, as well as the environment. Any ideas about who could bring something like this to fruition? I’m not the one, but would love to see it happen!

    • Hello Jane,
Thank you so much for all that you do. Such important work.

I wasn’t sure if you were aware of this. It seemed like something you should know about. It could impact our future in so many negative ways, if people don’t stand up and say something. Profits over planet will not work anymore.
The deadline is Aug 15. Sorry for the short notice, but I believe there are stages to their survey. This is the first one. Thank you for your time.

The US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management has issued a national survey seeking public input towards redefining mature forests and their protections.

The springs, rivers and headwaters that supply the water to our communities comes from the forests. Without the canopy to provide shade and retain the moisture, these water sources would dry up.

Our entire country has been critically impacted by loss of fresh water. The greatest danger is that the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management fail to connect overharvesting to the destruction of water sources.

Please take 5 minutes to be a voice for the water and our future.

Please tell the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to install special protections over any forest that contains or contributes to any springs, rivers, headwaters, lakes, ponds, aquifers, wetlands or watersheds. Any forest with a canopy that supports wildlife, water and living soil beneath must be considered a mature forest.

They must be conservative with the last of our precious resources. We cannot afford to get this wrong.

The more input we get, the more we will be heard.
      Please pass this along.

    • Im glad you are doing firedrill fridays. We need big names out there in the street so Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have a phrase that I use in comments on Twitter and FB, which is #MoratoriumNow. I have a description on my blog heres the link: https://bluebird23.blogspot.com/2019/09/what-moratorium-now-means-and-why-you.html I hope you take a minute to read it. If you like please think on this idea and perhaps mention it. I feel that not enough people are saying that the big things that need to be done are actually Very Big, and a moratorium is one of them. My brother who is finance poo-poos me but, I persist. I also have an idea for a public awareness campaign involving “Ask ME” T(each)-shirts that is quite good. If you want to reach me I’m at heartwings1123@gmail.com Thanks again for using your power for good in the world.
