Can’t wait to see conclusion of The Newsroom. As a broadcast journalist for many years, I love this HBO series! Also, what makes this series must-see TV for all 37,000 living Vassar alums, is that so many of the actors in it, went to Vassar, including Jane Fonda, class of 1959. BTW, Jane, we missed you at the 2014 all-classes ending with ‘4 or ‘9 reunion, June 12-14, 2014, other Vassar actors were there, including Anne Hathaway, Vassar ’04 and Tanya Wright, Vassar ’89. PS Congrats on your
    AFI Award in 2014!

Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom (HBO), is Vassar all the time. Jane Fonda ’59, Hope Davis ’86, Kick Kennedy, grand-niece of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis ’51 and Grace Gummer ’08, daughter of Meryl Streep ’71 and sister of Louisa Gummer ‘13. How many times did Grace mention Vassar in the episode, “Unintended Consequences”? Best line? “I’m your rebound. I went to Vassar,” she whispers, melting his heart. Fonda’s first Oscar for Klute (1971), noted on mixer posters sent to Yale, Princeton. Knowing their way around real-life newsrooms: Consuela Golden, Peter Sleight, Laurie Paull, Jay Severin, Lonna Saunders, Paula Williams Madison. Don Imus’ Rutgers remarks about women basketball players, prompted Paula’s purchase of WNBA’s LA Sparks. Vassar women’s basketball, first national ranking: 25th spot, Div. III Top 25 Coaches Poll!
