My name is Jon Maxey. I have been working on an interesting project. The project involves launching an inflatable satellite into orbit around the earth. The idea behind the International Peacestar satellite is to encourage people around the world to look into the night sky and take a moment to think about the incredible miracle we all share. I want to suggest that everyone shares a responsibility to the future that we often fail to appreciate. Finding solutions to war, profound poverty, hate and injustice require greater urgency. I also want to widely publicize an idea that can effectively fund long term efforts that address extreme poverty and promote peace. A International Peace Superfund, created by redirecting a portion of savings derived from identifying and eliminating inefficiencies in our defense department expenditures, could produce an paradigm shift in the war on world poverty. Including our allies in this effort would produce a truly unparalleled international force for good. This idea is exciting because it does not require raising taxes or even solicit donations for funding while at the same time introducing new efficiencies to traditional defense expenditures. L’Garde Inc. (www.Lgarde.com) has recently completed a design and engineering study for the Peacestar inflatable satellite. The actual costs to build a Peacestar satellite package has been reduced by several orders of magnitude and is thought to be very feasible. In its current design configuration, it is about the size of a shoebox preceding inflation. Dr. Art Palisoc, of LGarde Inc. believes that it may be possible to receive a reduced rate or completely donated launch service as a secondary payload on a future project launch. The current design when viewed in orbit from earth will be absolutely stunning!
I realize this project is ambitious, but the reward could bend our global collective destiny toward a lasting greater good.
