I believe in helping others and trying to make the world a better place. I have been involved in politics, environment, anti-racism, women’s issues, children and education for most of my life. At this time, I am working hard on the 2020 Election. I am extremely concerned about our country’s future, if we don’t change leadership. Like you, Jane, I believe strongly in Civil Disobedience. Look what happened after George Floyd, with BLM and worldwide protests. My concern is that this election be safe from voter suppression and foreign interference. Therefore, I’d like to see a massive campaign to force Congress (especially the US Senate) to pass laws to ensure a secure election. I propose that each voter send 2 letters, emails, or phone calls to their 2 US Senators, urging them to pass the laws we need to protect our mail-in votes (USPS) and other forms of suppression and to prevent Russian meddling. This is an easy task for most people….only 2 letters. I don’t know if Mitch McConnell will let the Senate vote on election safety, but it’s worth a try. If Senators receive thousands of letters, that’s real pressure. And 1/3 of the Senate is up for re-election. Numbers count to politicians. How can we make this a real campaign? I believe Jane Fonda has the ability and power to do this. Unfortunately, I don’t. thank you.
