I just wanted to thank you and tell you how grateful I am-to you! I was so “insulated” that, before December, I didn’t even know there was a climate crisis; yep; hard to believe. But you led me to it and I, somehow, found the courage to get up in front of grade school kids (k-3)and have a “conversation” with them. They were so interested, empathetic, and knowledgeable(!!). I had a great and fun/funny time. We decided I get to do the grade schools because of how I am with little kids. I had the most excellent time and learned a few facts from them!! They are worried and empathetic to the BIPOC population-these little kids…
I haven’t done anything in front of people since high school because I am so self conscious. But, even hunched over, with a walker, I was just fine. I absolutely adore little kids- even when they are screaming (because they are having a good time). They just make me smile and feel good; it helps that I (unfortunately or fortunately (??)) speak “kid talk” and know my kid shows (from spending time with my niece and nephew). I am forever grateful to you for giving me the courage so I could have this excellent opportunity. I am also grateful that I now have a purpose. I have to say- you are truly my “hero” or someone I have the deepest respect for; the way you have lived your life; your ability to give your time and energy to your activisms. I do NOT know how you find the time and energy to do all you do. So once again “from the bottom of my heart”: “thank you”. I really, really, REALLY needed a purpose and “finding” you gave me just that. Sorry this is soooo long! I hope you are doing well. ❤️❤️
