Hello I saw the play, The Trial of Jane Fonda, in London last night starring Anne Archer as Jane. I know it is not endorsed by Jane but she was interviewed by the playwright, Terry Jastrow as part of his research. I was stunned by the impact Jane’s visit to North Vietnam had in 1972 and, as a direct consequence of it, President Nixon scaled back…[Read more]
I read Jane’s autobiography. I didn’t know Nixon did that. I wonder why Jane didn’t endorse it. Did it not portray the truth? She really got a bad rap for her visit to VN. I’ve always appreciated everything she did for the anti war movement.
Many thanks for your reply, Deborah. One of the play’s themes is how images form our memories so our memory of Jane’s trip to North Vietnam is dominated by the image of her sitting on the anti-aircraft gun (which was not in use at the time) whereas the visit was about much more than that and was mainly taken up with visits to bombing sites whi…[Read more]

Julia and Agnes of God, are among my 10 favourite movies of all time. I reckon Jane really appreciates Julia, but i very rarely heard her talk about Agnes of God. It’s a superb film, brilliant performance by Jane, as usual, but also supported by a magnificent Anne Bancroft. The story is both fascinating and intriguing, which has led to a lot of…[Read more]

Another comment on Cat Ballou, after watching a DVD version (I saw the original in a cinema in the mid ’60s while in my late teens): A superb, great, classic, different western, combining humor, rough tough stuff, scary moments, music (Nat King Cole & Stubby Kaye, live), colorful scenery (Wyoming), academy award winning acting, and good ending.…[Read more]

Hi Jane. On Golden Pond is a splendid movie. Excellent acting, filming, scenery. The audio seems a little weak(volume), muffled at times (maybe my hearing, or TV, DVD player) . Refreshing to watch a film with no guns, violence, evil, good guys & bad guys, just normal human interaction. Wonderful to see Henry & Jane Fonda, real life father &…[Read more]

Hi!
If you have the documentaries “Fonda On Fonda” from 1992 and “Starring Katharine Hepburn” from 1981 on DVDS, please post your responses. Both documentaries featured Jane and Henry and were produced/written/directed by Joan Kramer and David Heeley. Thanks! 🙂
I have seen “Fonda on Fonda”

Are almost the same age as Jane, I love cinema always, what can speak to the soul of man. Among the many films of Jane what I believe is the most beautiful Stanley & Iris in 1990. It passed almost unnoticed, yet the interpretation of Jane was sublime and unreachable, his looks, his movements are a human being and not an actor! He deserved another…[Read more]
